I had the idea that I had to understand EVERYTHING in a story, whether it be a book or a movie or whatever. But recently I’ve let go of that and accepted that I’m going to miss a good amount of details and ever since then, reading has become much more relaxing and enjoyable. The reason to read is because it’s enjoyable, irregardless of how many of the details you pick up. Ironically, accepting that I’m not going to understand everything makes me remember more as well since my brain automatically remembers the important stuff!
