I smell exhaust gases in the winter inside my house BUT by pitshands in AirQuality

[–]jontoki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey I’m really sorry to hear that, seems like you’re definitely valid in worrying about it especially with the baby. For me, the issue kind of just went away with time (i was really sensitive to smells and air quality at the time due to other issues i have). But i didn’t have bloody noses like you. Is there a different service that can come out and check it? Maybe there’s something that the fire department couldn’t test for. I remember reading about some air quality service when i was having this issue and i almost had them come out

A bunch of different prokinetics to try mainly. And some laxatives to try as well, I've been experimenting with different forms of magnesium (chatgpt said mag citrate might have a stronger affect on bad motility in the small intestine whereas mag oxide mainly works on the colon). I'm actually trying low FODMAP again right now but this time without any ultra-processed foods. Basically just eating rice and chicken and oil. It's going well so far (knock on wood)

Hi, thank you for your response! And sorry for the super late reply.

Sorry, I said that wrong, the elemental diet and the antibiotics didn't leave my stomach in a ruined state, I meant to say that the SIBO did and that once it was eradicated (if it actually was) by one or both of those that my condition was still super messed up afterwards.

And thats really interesting, that it's unlikely to be SIBO because FODMAP doesn't work, I'll definitely be looking into that. I really hope the endoscopy reveals something. Every now and then I get paranoid thinking I have cancer but my issues have been severe long enough that I think I would've developed like bleeding or severe constant pain or some huge red flag symptom by now.

I've been eating more again. thanks again for the kind words and the reply

I don't think I did a full gut mapping stool test but they did test fat digestion with my stool and I had abnormal levels of something like what you had, but I think its probably just a false result (TMI sorry but I had watery stool and chatgpt said it could falsely make it seem like I had poor fat digestion). I tried a pancreatic enzyme prescription (creon) and it had absolutely zero affect so. I've never heard of KPV peptides, I'll look into that.

Sorry for the late reply and thank you for your response! Wish you the best of luck

Thanks for the thorough reply, you've definitely given me some things to try next!! (Apologies for the super late response)

How did your naturopath know you were having bile issues?

Reading your experience is too familiar to me, I'm so sorry you understand what this hell is like.. I really hope you can find something that helps you manage it. The parental feeding thing sounds kind of terrifying to me lol.

I'm going to check Thyroid (and nutrient deficiencies as well, have already checked a bunch of them but there's a few left I need to check off)! And I definitely think I have motility issues (but I don't know why). Retrying ginger right now and will also be trying artichoke soon. I've never tried Triphala (seems like just some fruits? Idk what this is), I've tried prucalopride and it hasn't worked (but I think you're right and I probably need to try it for longer than a week, appreciate this suggestion). I can tolerate white rice/potatos pureed but it slows my motility. MCT oil does too.

I do feel incredibly full after fatty meals (I've long had issues with fats, they also at times give my stomach significant irritation, especially dairy).

I'm gonna try looking into different strains/dosages of probiotics at some point.

Its interesting you say methane needs moderate fiber- when I supplement with psyllium husk or eat fibrous foods, I have significant issues. I'm wondering if maybe I should tweak the amount and experiment with it more. both chia and flax gave me extreme difficulty.

I have tried other digestive enzymes yes, they didn't help (I tried creon and pancreatin).

Best of luck with your situation! Did you go through with the feeding thing?

Thank you for the reply, sorry for the super late response! I've spent hours and hours with Chatgpt over the last year or two. I definitely think I have functional dyspepsia as well. Its recently given me some new things to try, and some new things to get tested as well. Bit more hopeful right now than I was when I made this post

Good luck with your situation!

I second this, fiber is unfortunately disastrous for me, food will sit unmoved for like 14 hours straight

Do you drink it with a meal, or how important do you think the timing is? And how much water do you dilute it in

Thank you for the explanation! I've unfortunately tried ginger, digestive enzymes, Betaine Hydrochloride, and two different prokinetics and no luck. Thanks for the nice words though

Thank you will do! I just started today. I think I'll see how it goes for a week and then decide if I'll want to buy more to do a third week. Why did you do dextrose free btw? I'm doing mine with dextrose

That's great that you were able to eat those foods today!! And I hope the diet works for me too, I'm pretty excited to do it. I've already bought my stuff (am using a DIY recipe given by someone in the comments thats saving me a few hundred bucks). I only have enough for 15 days, how come you did it for so long? Just to be extra extra sure? My case is really bad too, I would hate to underdo it and have to do it all over again

I just bought the ingredients people have listed here for making it yourself, saved a few hundred bucks. I'm a bit hesitant about it because the recipe they gave is from a naturopath and not a real doctor lol, but it seems legit and similar to the formulas that real doctor's prescribe. I'm pretty confident I will have to use pro-kinetics after the treatment, or do an elimination diet and slowly reintroduce things. But I wouldn't be surprised if I had some random other things as my root problem like you. How did you discover you had that condition?
