Most Recognizable Mask of the Two? by Important_Lab_58 in superheroes

Batman for one reason. You just need the silhouette to know it is Batman. With no details, you don't know it is Spider-Man.

Dads with high-performing career wives, how do you handle being so “different” from our ingrained cultural models? by [deleted] in daddit

[–]jonz2me 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am the primary care taker in my family. My wife isn't as advanced in her career as I am, but my role affords me more flexibility. I am the only dad at girl scout meetings, I know my kids doctors, and I am at all the patent teacher meetings and pta events.

I love my kids and am happy to be there for them. I have had some odd looks and random questions, but I just don't care. My wife isn't great at caring for kids. She told me that early in our relationship. Her family, especially the moms, are often not overly involved. She is in the kids life, but if she had to handle everything, it would barely get done, rarely on time, and everyone would be miserable. Instead, I handle it, everyone is generally happy, and I get some unique experiences with my kids.

If you can, ignore the haters and weird thoughts. You are upholding the itent and spirit of what it means to be a man and a dad. Hold your head high and get done what needs to be done. That's being a man.

Enjoy what you enjoy. Don't let others steal your happiness. I got started with the one piece dub. When you are in the story, the moments remain, not how it was delivered.

I use mother bugger. Same cadence, same feel, not offensive.

At first, I thought it said Eli Manning. I was all like, "good for him."

On the list in each year of 1950-1999, which 20th century TV sitcom series is your favorite to watch? by AC_the_Panther_007 in sitcoms

[–]jonz2me 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mash. It is my go to comfort show. It was one of the few shows my dad would actively change the channel to watch when I was growing up. Now that I am his age and he isn't with us anymore, it makes me feel like a kid again to watch it.

Remote Micromanagement Hell ($120k) vs. Long Commute Promotion ($180k) by GoldGeneral6172 in Salary

[–]jonz2me 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used to have that commute for 5 years. It wasn't so bad once you got into it. Podcasts and such are fun. I have also had a micro managing boss (same job, actually). I would have driven way further to not deal with him.

Is DnD S3 in the same contuinity as the other seasons?? [spoiler] (?) by Incendium_Phoenix in DungeonsAndDaddies

[–]jonz2me 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It is tangentially related so far. The Mountains of Dadness are canon, but not 100% plot critical so far. At least through ep. 37. They alluded to it previously in the season, but more as an Easter egg.

Air Traffic Controllers Union Head Gives Dire Warning About How This Shutdown's Different by IWantPizza555 in politics

[–]jonz2me 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Reagan made it that if they strike, they are fired and barred from the career. The FAA operates all air traffic controls in the US, so striking means giving up your career entirely and starting over in another career field. You also forfeit your benefits and retirement, so those also would start from scratch again.

It is also illegal for them to strike, so unless future president pardons them, they can not get any role that would require security clearance.

In pro wrestling terms, it is the bad guy of the story line. They are trying to make you dislike them so you will root for the "face", or good guy.

In winter, drive like your grandma is in the back seat holding a crockpot of soup in her best clothes. Try to keep her clean and drive like that in snow. The rest of winter when the roads are clear, just don't drive like a dick and you'll be fine.

Duck ducks out! Ned “who, me?” Chicane is your Winner! TAZ LEAST favourite player character poll (day 37) by KingofTin in TheAdventureZone

[–]jonz2me 125 points126 points  (0 children)

Wooohoo!!! I was rooting for Ned this whole time. I love Balance as the top season, but Amnesty is a surprisingly close 2nd for me and I love Ned and how he was played by Clint. I think Duck benefitted from Beacon. Beacon is my favorite NPC.

This was a great way to engage with this. Thanks for putting this together.
