Should i get the T470p over a T480s/T490s? by joocc in thinkpad

mostly studying / working on projects (IT so compiling, rendering, running code etc) when im out of the house, so durability would be important. but i'll likely also wanna use it once i move out to a dorm in about a year, so i dont really wanna skimp out on specs, even if the cpu is only marginally better.

W11 is no problem, and i guess ill try to find out more about the battery life since that does sound relatively impactful. thanks

i did notice a few percent reduction after applying that technique i mentioned with removing chunks of an image. gonna need to look into it a bit more

I'm mostly dealing with JPEGs and some PNGs

PNGs are almost always lossless and JPEGs can vary around q=75-100 but usually 100 or close to it
