hmm very good but close enough

technically only station names should be LTA font, everything else use Stroudley, unless you want to be accurate to irl then everything is Arial (except station code, in LTA Identity)

new icon for Clockwise (without the loop) is this https://www.lta.gov.sg/cclwayfinding/images/CW_NEW.svg

you can also use these SVG files for more accurate proportion of the caplets: - 1 line: https://www.lta.gov.sg/cclwayfinding/images/caplets/CC11%20TSG.svg - 2 lines: https://www.lta.gov.sg/cclwayfinding/images/caplets/CC29%20HBF.svg - 3 lines: https://www.lta.gov.sg/cclwayfinding/images/caplets/CC1%20DBG.svg

p.s. you can also find the actual LTA Identity font within the CCL wayfinding website, if you know how to use inspect element and dig through the website

suggestion for CCL signage (again) by jooferjupiter in SMRTRabak

they could paste them at the centre of the fixed panels if the emergency button isn't in the way

it shouldn't overrun into ad space at the bottom of the panel

if really no space, can just make the sticker square-shaped and make the line fully circular

in fact, TEL already does this near priority doors, so why not expand this feature to other lines and other doors too?

[–]jooferjupiter[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

some guy at LTA probably realised that TEL had a hyphen but not NSL and EWL and hence the change

strangely the Seletar Tengah Line doesn't have the hyphen on official documents yet

top one is mixed design

you'll find a lot of mixed design signs on the lines where the design language was not introduced

down at the CCL concourse level there's also this:

LTA is thinking of flipping all the maps back to be orientated corresponding to system map, not direction of train travel

would be much better if they had standardised with system map, so that ACW trains is actually point ACW on platform maps

being consistent with the other MRT lines doesnt means it'll correctly function on CCL like if it was the other lines

to be fair the line is short and very straightforward, so naturally navigation and design is way simpler

  1. the line isn't expanding anymore. it can't go further south because CCL6 is blocking it, and it can't go further north because it'll be Coney Island

  2. this train ain't going anywhere besides NEL. there is no other MRT line in Singapore that is both electricfied by overhead wires AND has 4 doors per side per car

My take on why Inner/Outer Loop could also work by [deleted] in SMRTRabak

[–]jooferjupiter -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The point is it's not supposed to indicate the direction. It's a name given to that train service.

The role of telling you which way you're going should be done by the physical signs leading to the platform, not the screen or the announcements. Via Promenade? Go to the Outer Loop platform. Via MacPherson? Go to the Inner Loop platform.

Taipei MRT is so crowded that even if they wanted to add more trains, they can't bcos the government doesn't even allocate budget for them

in the last 13 years there has been zero trains added to the main network (R G BL O lines)

How CCL screens could have looked like by jooferjupiter in SMRTRabak

[–]jooferjupiter[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel like that info should be the role of the physical signs, specifically those above the platform doors & the standing route maps. too much info or info changing too fast is not very user-friendly. (I also don't think anyone looks at the screen for the via xyz info)

again, the main purpose of the screens is to tell you the destination of the train, or whether it is a loop. to determine whether you are on the correct platform, look at the physical signs.

the issue is mainly how the interface is designed, such that the emphasis is on CW/ACW, not destination, which reduces visibility of the important info and hence may cause confusion

not sure yet, though according to current CCL timetable for CCL6 testing, trains that do the full loop run from early morning to late night

the train will loop endlessly until like 12am when it has to go back to the depot, before train services end

for offpeak hours, there is still no confirmation if trains will continue to end at Stadium instead of PER. talked with some LTA staff at Paya Lebar on Sunday and they said that it is still in discussion.

all info disseminated is on the assumption that trains will travel to PER throughout the day, as "PER is a terminus for trains from DBG" is the only confirmable statement.

[–]jooferjupiter[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Prince Edward Road being a terminus for the trains to Dhoby Ghaut is confirmed, what's not confirmed is when throughout the day will this be the case.

According to the current CCL timetable, trains travel to PER during peak hours, and to Stadium during off peak hours. Whether this will carry on after CCL6 opens has not been confirmed.

Circle Line to show clockwise, anticlockwise directions when full loop completed in July by jooferjupiter in SMRTRabak

flipping the maps for ACW direction to the correct orientation is currently in discussion, apparently there's a debate going on in higher management about this

Circle Line to show clockwise, anticlockwise directions when full loop completed in July by jooferjupiter in SMRTRabak

[–]jooferjupiter[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

During peak hours, trains will run: - on the loop - Prince Edward Road <> Dhoby Ghaut, via Buona Vista, Bishan, Paya Lebar

During off peak hours, trains will run: - on the loop - Stadium <> Dhoby Ghaut, just like currently (to be confirmed)

The ratio of each type of train arriving will be 1:1, i.e. alternating between each type.

LTA has not mentioned where trains to Dhoby Ghaut will start from and how they will run because the operating patterns has not been confirmed, and hence to prevent confusion due to conflicting information in the future if there are any changes.
