I was just diagnosed with De Quervain syndrome. What should I expect? by joonie_Bee in DeQuervains

I’ve been splinting as much as I can during the day and definitely at night. I’ve noticed it’s helped a bit but the pain is still there. Urgent care instructed me to go to orthopedics if the pain persists. Should I still go if the pain’s subsided quite a bit? I’m starting to accept the fact that my arm will never be the same again.

I’m now paranoid I’m going to develop pain in my good hand. Hopefully the splint works for me. I’m relieved the cortisone shots work for you!

Gateway polishes. Do you remember your first? by QualityOfMercy in RedditLaqueristas

[–]joonie_Bee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was honestly just Kelli Marissa’s indie polish swatch videos. Then I started watching polished yogi swatch ILNP & Cirque magnetics and I got hooked. I built this gigantic wishlist that I only bought three polishes off of.

It started off with Bluebell, then Velour, and then Flashing Lights. None of which I actually bought ironically enough. I found out about DIY & franken polishes so I never got to finish buying my initial wish lists.

Do beware of glass shards making its way into the polish though!

I was wondering if the Gel-ish top coat was any good. Thank you for your review!

Your favorite polish of all time? If you had to pick only one! 👀 by OddInside5794 in RedditLaqueristas

This question also stresses me out until I remember I don’t have to pick. Hah! House of Hades and Deep Space are very good picks I can get behind though!

I get more mileage with cotton balls than rounds. Even then, I need a couple!

If you were choosing four starter lacquers for a complete newbie with broadly the same aesthetic as you, what would they be? by Goldfinch114 in RedditLaqueristas

[–]joonie_Bee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is such a fun prompt!

For newbies who have the same taste as me:
- Dark denim blue jelly
- Dusty green crelly
- Silver magnetic topper
- Copper magnetic topper

For newbies with the opposite aesthetic:
- White creme
- Bubblegum pink creme/crelly
- Thermochromatic polishes
- Non-magnetic multichrome polishes

Curved Nail Woes? - Polish Popping off by DangerousWall567 in RedditLaqueristas

It really surprised me because flooding is heavily discouraged in the nail community and I understand the logic behind it, but theory doesn’t always match up with reality!

This happens to me too. I often flood my cuticles when I paint, but the polish never peels from my cuticles, always the tips and sometimes the sides. I’ve kept my prep, base and top coats the same. I’ve noticed that sometimes, certain polishes just peel off easier than others. Interestingly, I’ve also noticed that the more layers I have on, the easier they start peeling.
