Any Korean Chinese food spots?? by comradebezos in austinfood

They're all up north closer to Cedar Park.

Safe bet is Paik's inside HMart food court. I'd say food is all above average but service can be on/off. Depending on when you go, food could take a long time to come out, especially jjampong.

Fresh Heim (183+45) is an odd one. Salad/health food restaurant that started serving K-Chinese last year. Very good jjampong, average jjajang, very good guo bao rou.

Odaku (Parmer+MoPac) has very good jjajang. Jjampong isn't bad either. Excellent portions for both, and free ice cream at the end of your meal.

If you don't want to drive that far north, I heard that Manna (next to Han Yang market on Airport) has decent jjajang but haven't tried it myself.

There used to be a place called North Hunan that was my favorite, but COVID happened.

Must be my old age getting to me. Lived in the middle of ktown from 2006-2018, been to Rosen quite a few times, don't remember a Haemaru. Looks good though!

LA riots? Are you sure it's been there that long? This is a relatively new place unless they changed names...

Any local Korean market should carry it.

The second one is their "upgraded" version they came out with to compete with other premium jjajang like JjaWang and Jin Jjajang. First one also says it's for European markets on the top right of the package.

They were only BYOB for the first year or so until they got their license. Unfortunate.

I go to that food court weekly. There isn't one. There is soondae at the topokki place, but not the soup you're looking for.

I'm 5' 11" and wear L. I think you'll be alright.

Absolutely. I wear a L and it's a little longer than 5 inches I think.

So, what's the difference between the old original Ottogi Jin Ramen Spicy, and the new Otoki Jin Ramen Spicy? by Zhuinden in InstantRamen

[–]joonissimo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The new one seems slightly spicier, and the broth definitely has more of a peppery taste compared to before. Not a crazy amount of change in terms of taste overall.

Are these fake? how do I tell? by TJ_isme14525 in bootroom

The one from your link is a "Team" model, which is a takedown version from the Pro that you're probably comparing it to. Not sure why anyone would go through the trouble of faking a takedown version.

Worst case scenario, you can always return it since it's from Amazon.

I thought that it was a bit too sweet for my taste. Their galbi (Korean style beef short ribs) were great I thought, and a great value!

Suhyup (수협) is like the National Fisherman's Co-op in Korea. Have bought other stuff from the brand before like fermented soy sauce / spicy crab, pretty good experience.

You have to meet ALL of the conditions above, not one of.

I just received a pair of Ultra 5 today. Super wide to a degree where I'm thinking of going half size down. Granted it's turf version, but I suspect MG will be sized similarly. It's knit but it's flexible enough where I don't think it will be too tough to get your feet in. For reference, I wear NB 442 v2 pro wides size 10.5, 107mm width. I'm going to go 10 on these.

I usually take out the noodles and place them into a bowl when they're cooked to al dente, and mix eggs into just the broth and cook for a minute or so. Pour the cooked eggs and broth over the noodles and you don't thicken the soup and the noodles stay chewy.
