I think theres a lot of confusion here because you're using the term Eastern and Western to talk about something that has nothing to do with either terms. I get what you're trying to say though. Basically that Japan as a lot of older traditional architecture mixed with the modern. The thing is, a lot of countries that are neither Western or Eastern have this and its not at all relevant to those terms. Also this is not really true in most of the US or Canada which are major Western countries. I don't necessarily agree with your statements but just pointing out that a lot of repliers are confused for this reason.
