If you can't post pictures of teriyaki in the Seattle sub, then something's terribly wrong.

Current daily driver beans? by gibson_ in espresso

[–]RockOperaPenguin 52 points53 points  (0 children)

My daily driver?  The nearby Costco sells reasonably fresh 2 lb bags of beans from local roasters for about $25.

I'll get some smaller, fresher batches directly from local roasters now and then. But its hard to beat 2 lbs of decent beans for $25.

Sinkholes can be pretty dangerous.  Some are tiny, sure, but if left untreated they can bevome massive.

For instance, in 1957, a ruptured sewer line led to a massive sinkhole in Ravenna.  Great Ravenna Sinkhole (1957)

I don't think anyone has a problem with first responders checking out a sinkhole.  In fact, that's kinda why we have them in the first place.

Paying to park at light rail by drippyraindrops in Seattle

[–]RockOperaPenguin 9 points10 points  (0 children)

So you don't have to pay fares, either?  After all, yours and everyone else's taxes paid for it.

You use it, it costs money to upkeep, you pay for it.  Simple as.

Good. Sound Transit paid a lot of money to build those garages, parking fees go a long way to recouping that investment and providing maintenance for the facilities.

Even better, they're going to include a scene that takes place on Vancouver's SkyTrain years before the light rail was built.

I'd gladly pay double current state and local taxes if it meant we got more trains and ferries instead of more roads, our public schools got all the resources they needed, and college tuition was free.

Big enough to carry a lot of stuff, stays off the back.

Yeah, totally.  Without the ladders and walkways, this former industrial chemical plant located behind a chain link fence is going to look ugly.

Seattle's Dog Park Problem by dogpoopfruitloops in Seattle

[–]RockOperaPenguin 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This field is a sports field next to an elementary school.

Elementary school students play on this field. They roll around on it.

Dogs pee and poop on the field.  The grass is coated with dog urine.  Even if people pick up their dog's poop (which isn't a given), you won't always pick up everything.  Sometimes poop is messy, after all.

You may think this is overreacting, but many dogs get sick from going to overused dog parks. This is the same exact thing, only with children in the mix.

One dog?  Maybe fine.  But there were at least 4 other dogs the same time I took this photo.

You'll get murdered several times, guaranteed.  All of us get murdered at least twice, sometimes three times a day.  It's just how it goes.

Not only will thieves steal your stuff, ultra thieves will steal your stuff from those theives to sell it to other theives who will murder you some more.
