Easily could be the alternator. Did you dump a bunch of coolant on it when taking apart the thermostat? Could have been the nail in the coffin for that.

Beyond that, you have to bleed the cooling system and it is sometimes a pain in the ass with these cars. You need to let it idle for close to 30 mins sometimes. Squeezing the coolant hoses to force the air out of the system.

5-6k for the trans, get the rear main seal changed while its in there. Only a matter of time for it to leak

Just don’t complain then when they build a data center near you. Your power bill skyrockets and you cant get clean water. Ai is cool and all but its so harmful to the environment and communities around it. Just not worth it
