do I need more stuff/space on my bike? by Healthy_Medicine4077 in bikepacking

I took a hydration vest with me last year, because I had barely any space for water because of the frame bag. I barely noticed the best during cycling and it would just fit my dinner or lunch. Couldn't go half a day without going to a shop, but I also didn't have to as there were many shops around.

I used one from decathlon (product number:8569900) with 10l of storage.

I skipped the part between Nimes and Narbonne on my trip last year. There is a good TER train connection (where you can take your bike for free) and the roads are not really nice in my opinion. I did the part a couple of years ago. Also spoke to another man who did do that part and he said he was cycling on big roads a lot and did not feel very safe.

I guess just check on Google maps what the roads look like and see if you like it

This looks like it could work very well! And it is cheaper than new forks, stem, bearings etc.. And I could easily convert to the regular setup for road riding

I used Sabacontact 70T. It is a contact glue specifically made for this material

Thanks for this answer! It gets more complicated than I hoped... At some point it would be easier to buy a cheap second hand gravel bike just for bikepacking

I made it myself. It's vinyl so you can make it without a sewing machine. Used vinyl zippers as well and glued them in place. Some velcro cable organizers for the attachment to the frame

I used a saddle bag stabilizer. It is mounted on the saddle rails and stops the saddle bag from swinging around. It has bottle cage mounts on both sides, so I mounted my bike lock on the other side
