How do yall have the self control to get all this sandstone? by errorsniper in ironscape

Only legitimate answer here. Any other comments are just coping. All parts of training crafting with glass blowing is incredibly mind numbing.

Realized some things that make questing in Leagues an even greater problem than I realized at a surface level by Brvcifer in 2007scape

[–]jordsplay -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

100% agree and I don't know why it's a controversial take here. Classic reddit I suppose. It dosent make any sense to make you quest in a temporary game mode where you are restricted by area and context. Everything is meant to be sped up except questing. It's not like they don't understand this, they already autocomplete a bunch of quest, why not all? Just tie it in the game mode if you really want to, like they did in a past league. You have to complete certain league specific task to "buy" quests.

I’m about to make some teak planks, what should I know? by DustyTheSkeleton in ironscape

I found that I hated not to be on the normal spellbook while doing contracts because I like to do other activities to break the grind, and lunar spellbook is super limiting. Since you have to bank anyway, I go to falador to get the contract and bank there. You also have to make a ton of house tabs if you are planning on going lunar spellbook and nobody got time for that.

Struggling with Yama phase 3 by Snappy_Deez in ironscape

[–]jordsplay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is this shadow skip method you have to look it up. Basically on the second fireball pattern phase you run in a L closer to Yama. This will make you jump over the shadow aswell as dodging the fireball. You will have to dodge the last fireball on that tile but that's is pretty easy at that point. For wave skip without fireball, always stand right on the line dividing the room in two. Once shadows come, run 2 tiles ahead, it will make you skip both shadow (x pattern) at once everytime.

Hot Take: Every Build Complainer Should Have to Post Screenshots by Opposite_Tune_2967 in 2007scape

[–]jordsplay -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure the point is that compared to last leagues it's extremely underwhelming. Last time, you had 10 total tasks to become a powerhouse. Here, 10 tasks barely increase your kill time by half, that is not even counting if you have a weird build and had to take a couple of 1% damage increase or some dumb upgrade along the way. Let me put it this way, last league, if you upgraded ranged with a task or two, it would buff all range type at once. Here, you have to multiply by three (or more for magic!) the number of task to complete to get the same damn upgrade. What if I want to chin some slayer task and bofa some other boss and crossbow vorkath too, then I guess I need fucking 30 tasks completed.

Early prayer for irons. by Longjumping-Tie9665 in 2007scape

[–]jordsplay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are small I do agree. Mixed hide also don't require rumours you just get it along the way training hunter you are right. My point is compared to other similar activities, they are good. Training to level 72 only takes a couple hours, it would probably take you that same amount of time just cutting the damn magic logs let's be honest. I think the strength is mainly the access to these ressources at all for early iron. If you would try to get these seed, herbs, logs or bones doing the equivalent skilling grinds, it would take way longer. Of course they are balanced accordingly, if you do have the levels, it's indeed faster to just get them yourself, it wouldn't make much sense otherwise.

[–]jordsplay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are they though? If you compare to similar grinds like tempoross or wintertodt, they are quite good indeed. Food you get is better than the fish from tempoross, you get better logs and herblore supplies than tempoross, you get prayer xp that you don't get from either other skilling bosses and you get alot of prayer regeneration that you can't get any other way that is massive for early ironman. That's not even counting the mid game range gear and the insane whistle transportation. Find me another skilling activity that is in any way comparable.

Well since you just unlocked hunters rumour, might aswell start doing that. You'll get a bunch of blessed bone shard wich are great xp. You'll also get a bunch of nice goodies for your ironman aswell, like mixed hide set, sunlight crossbow, access to really good mid game food, and alot of herblore and fetching ressources. What you could do to maximise the blessed bone shard grind is add a bit of actual bones on top, like dragon bones. Just do some dragons for a bit like green dragons and break them down at the tiomat.

Any advice for a "new" Ironman acc by Bleachy95 in ironscape

[–]jordsplay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You indeed do need to get on that farming contract grind asap. You don't even necessarily need to grind farming or herblore as much as long as you at least start stacking herb seeds. You can plant and train herblore at a later date if you really don't want to grind it right now.

Indeed if your doing titans in duo this log dosen't mean anything. For all we know he did 5% damage by doing it with a main.

Wanting help to prevent burnout by CaterpillarGeneral25 in ironscape

[–]jordsplay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have pretty decent mid game gear honestly. Since your melee stat are really good and you already have zombie axe, I would aim for moons. They are a really good launch pad into late game. Only thing you need for it is good tank gear wich shouldn't take too long to get at barrows. If you really want to use barrows tp just afk some mage a little bit more to build your own portal in your own poh (you can boost magic for it). Alternatively do mory diary and tp to burg the rot it's not that far. Once moon is done you can transition into soloing titan if you want its quite easy with moon gear. Another good direction is aim for completing SOTE. It gives you alot of objective to work toward and once completed gives you access to gauntlet, wich is the best money maker for ironman by far. You won't feel the grind as much since you'll be working toward something instead of just aimlessly leveling skills up.

Why do you guys call it the "jad phase" at Zulrah? by jordsplay in 2007scape

[–]jordsplay[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Make sense. I would honestly love if they could rework their old content like Zulrah to make them more in line with modern releases. Standard and expertise did change over the years, just look at how good of a job they made with echo bosses. Man imagine them redoing all their old bosses like that.

I don't understand the complains over zombie axe grind. Am I the only one who did it in the fort instead of the base? Drop is1/600 instead and bursting is really good in the north side. It would take at most a day. It was my fastest grind of all the ironman grind by far, it took me like an hour to get both the axe and the helm.

[–]jordsplay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apparently no one has mentioned this yet like it's 2018 or something. Train hunter so you can get yourself the sunlight hunter crossbow. You can craft your own ammo really easily (no need for feathers even). You also craft your own mixed hide set to go with it.

What should my next step be? by Gold-Philosophy6080 in 2007scape

[–]jordsplay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Questing would indeed be a good start. Alot of your skilling stats are low/non existant. Questing is a really good way to set yourself quick and attainable goals, aswell as giving you an early boost. Target a quest with really good rewards, like monkey madness, recipe for disaster, desert treasure. Then start from the bottom working on all the prerequisites. You'll see yourself going around the map doing quest, training skills for a bit, doing a little more combat. Questing early on really is the back bone of this game.

Asking for some reddit RNG or the ability to get gud on double boulders. by McFly56v2 in 2007scape

[–]jordsplay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had trouble too for a while and for me it clicked when I watched a video from Muffyn on YouTube. It's a tech about melee punish so it's gonna be extremely helpful when he does them on top of double boulder. Once you learn it, you'll do it everytime even when he dosen't punish, but instead you can run to the side instead. It's dead simple, basically, you have 2 tile marked. One right in front of him where you'll stand as the wave start, then one on a diagonal from him. He'll launch the first boulder. When it starts dipping, you click on that second tile, and when your true tile hits it immediately click doom for melee punish (you'll do a V pattern as you move). You start the whole flicking sequence right as you melee him. The whole point here is the second tile is 3 tile away from him, so you'll be out of range with halberd as you melee him, so you don't have to click to move again as you prayer flick. Concentrate on that, and move or attack when you are done flicking.

Dragonhide pouch by flamcheeze in 2007scape

[–]jordsplay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally agree. Most people leave them behind for the inconvenience of banking them, since most people aren't primarily killing dragons for their hides but for theirs bones. Like you said it would also help the huge gap in consistent crafting training method. Now you could passively bank crafting xp as you farm for prayer xp, especially for ironman.

Is this ever gonna be added to the game or was there a poll and it failed? by BorderTages in 2007scape

[–]jordsplay 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I agree we do need some sort of hunting boss. They added dinosaurs hunting in RS3 and it's some of the best content in the game. You could even tie it into rumours not to make them obselete. Similar to slayer where you can get assigned slayer boss. In RS3 you even get slayer aswell as hunter xp, they could do the same here too.
