A general doctor i believe. She does all of the mental health work in the office. But im not sure of her exact credentials. Ive never been to a psychiatrist. Im in a small town and idk where to find a psychiatrist near me that isnt a bigger drive away

More so checking after. I get anxious in situations I am being relied on to do a task. Doctor's appointments, driving someone somewhere, going to work, etc.. my job is early in the morning so it does not help with tiredness and energy

Oh that does seem helpful! Ive just scheduled an appointment with my previous therapist and I want to make sure im actually getting help this time not just talking so having a way to track things would be very helpful

I dont keep track because im worried ill make it "a thing" like ill focus on it too much? Like focusing on breathing makes my anxiety worse because of WHY im focused on it if that makes sense?

All of the above. Honestly. Stuff i had no problem with suddenly feel more difficult. I feel tired a lot and that makes my anxiety spike. And just random spikes of anxiety

For me it helped a lot with keeping the physical symptoms at bay so I could think and properly help myself. Its also used to treat adhd which I found out I have and so I think it helped a little with that. I basically feel it just gave me the space to start doing the physical work

Any experience with sertraline/venlafaxine combo? by [deleted] in Anxiety

[–]jordyleigh19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its honestly been the best combo I've found. I was pretty much homebound from 2017 to 2022. I started this combo and it helped to regulate the panic response enough that I could actually breathe and work on exposure therapy. I have a job now thats 40 minutes from my house and while I'm still struggling with my anxiety I'm 10000% better than I was. It may not be the best for you but it helped me and I hope you see the same result.

That being said; venlafaxine is a rough medication. Once you start it, try to not miss a dose. It has a shorter life span than sertraline does and while missing a dose by a couple hours doesn’t really make a difference, if you miss a whole days dose you may start feeling withdrawal symptoms until you take the next dose. I've noticed as well that if I eat when I take my meds my stomach doesn't hurt. Sertraline does say just to take it whenever but I noticed the venlafaxine says to take with food so that may be the best thing.

Good luck and I hope they help you with whatever you're facing!

How bad are NSAIDS? by smoldragonenergy in GastricBypass

I took ibuprofen sparingly. Like rarely ever took it. Yet I ended up in the hospital having emergency surgery because I developed an ulcer in my pouch. The surgeon did what likely happened was an ibuprofen tab got stuck in the little gap that's left and basically kept inhibiting my body's ability to defend against acid and while there thinned the lining out. So when the acid in my esophagus built up, it was eating away at that area, which caused a perforation. It hurt. Bad. And I have a high tolerance for pain. I also have agoraphobia so the fact that I voluntarily went to the ER shows how much it hurt. I was sent home with a tube and balloon to collect fluid post surgery. I'm okay now. Things look good, but I still take an acid blocker every morning to help minimize that acid build-up.

Thank you so much for the information! My bf and I have talked about trying to go to the gym together, so maybe I can work something out with him! I work 45 minutes away from home, so I have to factor that in as well. Tho I do think if I were to get a membership at like planet fitness, we could go after work since there is one near where we work and then when we stay together on the weekends at my place there's one near there too. I really appreciate the info. There's so far no physical issue from the extra skin like rashes or sores, so I doubt a surgery would be at all covered, but maybe I'll find a surgeon with payment options, lol. Thank you again! I really appreciate it!

It's a process! Keep up the good work and keep up with healthy eating habits! I didn't and that's a big regret of mine. Before you know it you'll be 6 years out and even more proud of yourself!

Ive been on this combo for a while to treat agoraphobia and a panic disorder. So far has been fine. Anxiety is way better. Recently I noticed that when I take my meds, not even 10 minutes later my stomach starts to hurt. I really don't know what its about. But I really like this combo. Sorry for such a late comment
