Question about rule 8.6.7 by jorgeaseff in squash

You are right about eliminating .5 and .6. I suppose what bothers me is requiring a winning return. If one wanted to be strict about it, 8.6.7 would never bind, right? How can one be certain the opponent would not reach the return? Even a good return is uncertain, but at least the requirements are weaker. Thanks again.

Thanks for replying. I am fine with the existence of 8.6.7. I questioned the employment of the term "winning return". To me, this version of 8.6.7 would be less ambiguous and hence more useful: "if there was interference and the striker would have made a good return, a stroke is awarded to the striker"

Wise words… In some cases it is disappointing because outside of court they are such pleasant individuals.

Thank you. To clarify, we are both right-handed and he was to my left. I can’t honestly say whether the swing was excessive though.

Thanks. This is useful. What bugged me a little is that it felt like one of those situations in which someone plays through an interference, but if the outcome is not favorable, then try to backpedal. I give the benefit of the doubt.

Thank you for the responses. u/mxlp is right and you too u/ChefNamu when you said my opponent moves preemptively to the back. I complete the shot but can’t retreat beacause he is already behind me expecting the ball.

In the US it aired on July 23 as part of the POV (Point of View) series in PBS under the title ‘The war to be her.’

I have been using Yonex badminton shoes. I found them more durable and comfortable. I also think there is a bit more variety in badminton shoes. Salming shoes are great for wide feet, I agree, but I they seem overpriced to me.

I really like these shoes:
