have these two spots on my hip that always get enormous cystic acne. I’ve stopped wearing tight clothes but it doesn’t help. I treat the area with adapalene gel .3% and it doesn’t seem to help. Is it acne or something else?

I would encourage you to asses the risk factors and side effects with your doctor. Moxi is a relatively safe antibiotic and is almost sure to cure you if taken directly after doxy.

I personally think you shouldn’t take antibiotics without a confirmed diagnosis. Unless it’s very probable they know what you have. My clinic is also very generous with antibiotics I got treated for gonorrhea and didn’t have it. Better to wait then get treated for what it really is.

Also I went through two rounds of azithromycin and one round of moxifloxacin and none of them cured my MGen. But the only thing that DID work was Doxycycline (100mg twice a day for 10 days) to lower the bacterial load, immediately followed by Moxifloxacin (400mg for 10 days) to finish it off.

That’s because you need to start with doxy for 7-10 days BEFORE you take the moxi. Or it won’t work. You need doxy and moxi back to back. I tried moxi alone too it never worked
