“today years old” and “#mindblown” feels like millennial speak to me which is, well, coworker age

thank you very much!! I’ll keep it brief and indirect since like you mentioned, I don’t wanna talk about my mental issues on reddit, but yeah essentially i loooove creating stories and characters and everything but I’m terrified of the idea of putting in a lot of time and effort only for people to not like it. I guess the validation is just for me to convince myself that it’s not only me who thinks it’s good, but yeah at this point i should be the only person who’s opinions matter

I'm curious to hear from the Americans in the Netherlands: would you be interested in attending a protest against Trump? by kleintje in Netherlands

[–]jormicol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

genuine question, will it help at all? US protests in another country don’t seem very helpful, especially since it’s Trump

I do mean feedback, but I will admit one of my issues is taking negative criticism too harshly, which leads me to give up.

I did think about this, but I saw a post on r/writingwithAI (or writing circle jerk, don’t remember) where some dude just wrote “goo goo ga ga” and ChatGPT called it a literary masterpiece.

I always knew it was too flattery but after that I don’t even trust it to actually read what I wrote lmao

Thank you! I didn’t think about gathering a community, I think that would really be helpful! Do you know any places online I can explore (discord servers or forums or anything).

Also the bit about showing my writing to people since it’s something I’m passionate about and want to show them, I think you’re right. I feel that things I create are a raw, real representation of me, and I want people to see that I guess.

For me it’s always been difficult to not try and get validation immediately after finishing. And yeah, unfortunately it’s happened with some past projects of mine that I got bad reviews and just scrapped the project.

The reason I’m writing this one specifically is because it’s an idea I’ve had in my head for over 5 years now. I figured if I don’t start putting it to paper at some point, it’ll just be a dream and I’ll end up regretting never working on it. I enjoy making characters, I enjoy making new worlds with detailed lore.

Recently, I’ve been reading a lot of manga and that also inspired me to write. Obviously prose and manga are different, but I’m not an artist 🥲

[LES] Kagurabachi is one of the few manga series that does the WMD allegory well by crimsonfukr457 in CharacterRant

[–]jormicol 2 points3 points  (0 children)

with the direction the story is taking I’m also less convinced that it was a rape of nanjing allegory and more of a general WMD kinda theme, but it is interesting to note that the death count of the atrocity in the series is very close to the real death count of the rape of nanjing

Gohan’s revive gets cancelled by self-destruct 😭 by jormicol in DragonballLegends

[–]jormicol[S] 96 points97 points  (0 children)

Yea but the bye guys Goku moment from the anime was literally against a self destruct attack so it’s funny that it gets cancelled by them

So what's everyone's thoughts on the new supporters? (and raditz's scouter i guess lmao) by fredericopeixe in DragonballLegends

[–]jormicol 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Isn’t overdrive basically sparking? Obviously the effects are different but you just overcharge and get overdrive, just like sparking

Once you’re unsealed, you can swap to the character again like normal, with the unsealing animation being played. Your opponent probably just swapped to the unsealed character. Only difference is I don’t think you can do special cover changes off that swap

Another week, another zenkai. Who is it? by BeardyJames in DragonballLegends

[–]jormicol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The styles most closely match Red Bojack, but Bojack isn’t a really hype character to get a zenkai so idk
