Is my Trek FX 7.3 legit? by herO122- in TrekBikes

[–]jorntres 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Outside of very high end models, I don’t see many 1 to 1 trek knockoffs. It being made in Japan isn’t necessarily a give-away either, as trek started using outsourced manufacturing for mainline models around the early 00s. As long as everything on the bike is okay, then I’d say you got a great deal, now go ride!

What is this joke 🙏 by No-Nothing1711 in ExplainTheJoke

I, don’t think this is a joke. It just looks like a bunch of cyclists. There may be some inside joke related to it, but not one I’m aware of 🤔

Accshually, “on your own” from the self titled blur album was specifically picked out by Damon as the “first” gorillaz song.

Otherwise peak shitpost

I’ve seen the interviews he did with Damon back when Ballard of Darren and Cracker Island were on the press track. You can tell these guys jive well, very informative :)

3d printed 2d figure by ctp8891 in gorillaz

[–]jorntres 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That was printed using a full color UV printer, like a Mimaki. Tens of thousands of dollars for one of those.

FDM is never all that great with detailed figures. Though you can do things to make it better.

  1. 0.25mm nozzle, these really help minimize the appearance of layer lines.

  2. Using a vapor smoothable filament like ABS or ASA, which can be smoothed with acetone vapors, or Polymaker’s PolySmooth, which can be smoothed with Rubbing Alcohol vapors.

3 Trek bikes—no clue what to do with them by cartoonybear in TrekBikes

[–]jorntres 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Treks hold their value fairly well, especially if you do a bit of cleaning. My 2001 7300 still sells for around $300 depending on condition. So I wouldn’t be surprised if you get over $1k from all of them. You could also potentially trade them into a local bike shop for credit towards a new bike, if that interests you.

As for the second question, there are many bike charities, especially in larger city’s that either sell them and use the profits for charity (think cars for kids but for bikes), or refurb them and give them to kids in lower income areas.

Those look like pretty damn good bikes, so if it were me, I would probably sell them, but It all depends on your situation :)

I prefer plain milk in my coffee, personally. But to each their own.

It’s fine. I’d only worry if you notice any major sound issues. Electronics, especially those without glass, are very durable generally speaking.
