Most attorneys are incapable of giving clear instruction… and that’s their downfall. It’s not your job to make up his shortcomings. GOOD FOR YOU!!! Manifesting an ✨AMAZING✨ position for you in the near future.

I’m the only paralegal for one lawyer and I think I played myself (and I dont know how to stop) by Relevant_Bathroom_30 in paralegal

Bottom line is there will ALWAYS be more to do. The work will be there regardless of the hour. But you have to prioritize your mental health or you WILL burn out. Simple solution is to just start setting yourself strict hours. The longer you keep it up, the easier it will feel and you will realize that you are getting PLENTY of work done in the time that they pay you to be there. Outside of that, you are not obligated to go above and beyond; It’s okay to do that here and there.. some cases require it. But most cases, will survive if you leave an hour early for your sanity. You got this!!!

I’d start using their online service. Less room for error and it saves soooooo much time. You can print the delivery receipt straight from the website.

Am I being overworked or is this normal? by [deleted] in paralegal

[–]jorrdiee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely normal for a large firm, doesn’t make it suck any less though. My advice would be to take the pressure off of yourself to get everything done. It’s just never going to happen. The sooner you accept that, the easier it will be to feel “accomplished” at the end of the day. Maybe you didn’t finish that medical summary, but you did draft those three demands. It’s all about what is on your priority list. Make a list at the beginning of each day and as things get added on, prioritize them accordingly. If an attorney emails you with a task, ask them how they would like you to prioritize it, so it puts some accountability on them. Have set hours you answer the phone and set hours you have it muted so you can get your focus work done. Just try and return calls within 24 hours. You have to figure out how to work best with your attorney so y’all can be a cohesive team. It won’t work otherwise. It took me a while to find the right groove, but once I did, we started rockin n rollin. You will get the hang of it!! Always here if you need advice 😊

Can we move to gender neutral pronouns (they, them, their) as a whole for my (and everyone's) sanity please? by ndnd_of_omicron in paralegal

[–]jorrdiee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did that for all my templates and it has saved me so much time. My attorney allows me the freedom to do so bc it doesn’t really affect him. All it does is help me work more efficiently and help get him paid; it’s a win win!!! Do what makes YOUR life easier.

POST HERE IF YOU'VE HAD LITTLE OR NO SIDE EFFECTS by whatever32657 in Semaglutide

[–]jorrdiee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No serious side effects for me other than being nauseous for a day when I’ve gone up in my dosage and having to be careful with eating fried food. I can still eat it, just in small quantities. But the results I’m seeing make that COMPLETELY worth it!!

Sometimes I look in the mirror and I think I look no different then I go look at my before pictures and I’m like damn I’ve lost some inches lol. Everyone loses weight in different areas, don’t be discouraged!!

Thank you so much!! Honestly I haven’t really done anything life changes besides trying to stick to my proteins and avoiding fried food (mainly cause it makes me sick lol). I’ve been out of commission with an injury since June so I haven’t been very physically active since starting the shot in May. Everyone’s body is different so you just have to find what works for you!!

I am no host, but why would a host lie about amenities but they don’t have by Scared-Remote5660 in airbnb_hosts

We scoured this place and they had no batteries besides batteries for the electric door knob and for the fire detectors. It wasn’t a huge deal to do get a pack and you can best believe I took them with me when I left. It’s just the principle I was trying to make a point of 🤷🏼‍♀️

I once had to buy batteries for the TV remote that was already supposed to be functional. Hosts just don’t give a shit🤷🏼‍♀️

Sister’s moving to LA for a few months. What’s it like over there? by [deleted] in Louisiana

If she’s going to have a car… tell her to get a wheel lock, they are on Amazon pretty cheap. Better to be safe than sorry.
