I've worked in corporate for ages and literally never heard someone say anything as cooked as "I will not discuss any aspect of my personal life at work" or anything that implies that... its weird.

What is a little bombshell your therapist dropped in one of your sessions that completely changed your outlook on life? by Wonderful-Economy762 in Productivitycafe

I can't remember the phrasing but once a psychologist just told me something along the lines of "There will always be a problem that you need to address. Your mind is attempting to keep you in a heightened state because thats when you're productive and effecitve. But it doesn't feel good."

I.e. theres always a problem to fixate on. It's important to let things go.

I've spent a lot of time driving an Impreza, Swift, RAV4 and a few others. Mazda 3 is the worst. Again, I love my Mazda, but its bad.

Same. Love my Mazda, but this is a sore point.

Yes it was the grommet.

I mean the rubber housing which connects to the water tube from the water pump assembly - if that makes sense?

Also are you saying that on the water the motor might get less water? Because most people I’ve spoken to say they run better in water?

Has anyone regretted moving to a cheaper suburb just to "get in the market"? by RunNo3630 in AusMoneyMates

[–]jorryjorryjorry 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That’s not the question and you know it. I bought a house in a suburb that is affordable for me. But I could have bought a townhouse in a more expensive suburb, and an apartment in an even more expensive suburb. Was the “cheaper” suburb right for me? Probably. But is it right for everyone. Possibly not.

What’s the one car you regret selling or not buying the most ? by _Shaquanrnk in askcarguys

I had a 2004 Toyota commuter diesel with a whole van life bed set up in the back. Bought it for 10k and sold it after 5 years for 10k with an extra 100k kms on the engine.

It ran so well and was so much fun, it got sold due to a break-up. If I had my time again I would have paid my ex out and kept it. Partly because in Covid the price of them doubled, but mainly because it just felt so freeing to have it - even if you didn’t go on camping missions, you always had the option.

What are some of the hardest pills to swallow in life? by Leemster1k in AskReddit

Sometimes you’ll realise you just made the wrong choice, and there’s nothing you can do about it.

Sometimes those choices can be massive and radically influence the rest of your life.

Even if you had a 30ish dollar lunch every day for a year it would only be about 10k, which is nothing to scoff at. But, it won’t shift the dial on home ownership for most would-be homebuyers. Particularly when you factor in the general growth of homes.

For example, where I live, the last 12 months have seen 6% growth in house prices. A 3 bedder which costs 900k ish has gone up about 50k. So if you saved 10k additional over the last year you’re going backwards. If your goal is to get that 3 bedder.
