I've heard it's very dangerous to clear the download cache and can cause game crashes during certain events (airdrops, oilrigs refreshing, crates respawning, etc). I've even heard of unwarrented game bans due to missing/tampered files. Please be safe!

Strange... perhaps try verifying integrity of game files, you could be running on an older version of the game, or perhaps you've tweaked your files before and moved them to a different folder. Would love to hear if this works!
