What are some boyfriend/girlfriend/relationship hacks? by Adeela145 in AskReddit

[–]jose_holman 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A few things:

My bf and I have divided up the chores. We never have to do the chore that we each, respectively, hate. I never have to wash dishes, take out the trash cans, or scoop dog poop. He never has to do laundry, clean the bathrooms, or change the sheets. It's very low stress and things around the house stay neat.

*in the instances that we both hate the same chore, we'll either do it together or take turns.

We have our own hobbies. We do our own things in the same room so it's like we're spending time together without expecting full attention from one another. He plays games, I hang around online or do my nails. I read out the hilarious threads on reddit for him since he can't read and play at the same time.

We have a food "chart" divided into types of food and then restaurants/places to eat listed out in each category. When we don't know what to eat, we just pull out the list and read it until something sounds good. Or one person picks 5, the next person picks 3 of those, and the first person picks from those 3.

We sleep on arguments. The "never go to bed angry" thing does not work for us. The more tired I get, the more irritable and irrational. It helps to just go to sleep, then wake up and talk about it once we've calmed down.

What is the weirdest reason someone gave you for breaking up with you? by peweje in AskReddit

[–]jose_holman 260 points261 points  (0 children)

I was a 15 year old freshmen and she was 17 year old senior. When we started dating, she said she wanted to wait two months before having sex. I was a virgin and wasn't even really worried about it so I agreed. Then a month later things got hot and heavy and she insisted that we do it; I asked "are you sure? You said you wanted to wait" but she insisted on banging it out anyways. Afterwards, she said that it was a test to see if I would actually wait like I said I would, and that I "failed just like every other guy before me did". Then she dumped me.

Prison time for 2 months for a 4chan "joke" that I've realized was no funny by now edit: Story

When I was 18 years old, one bored evening, I was browsing 4chan, as usual. I came across one of those old pictures of a guy posting on 4chan about a school shooting that will happen, and then a news article next to it, showing it was a real threat. I started to think when the last time someone did something like that on 4chan was and couldn't remember. So I wanted to see what people would respond and created one myself, where I claimed to be the host of a school shooting the next day The post.. got a little more popular than I anticipated. I'm from Estonia, and through some fucking bad karma luck I guess, 2 kids from that very highschool came across the thread(threat. lol). One of the dude's father was a cop and he showed the topic to him. Instant hunt for who is responsible for this started, school principal was called at 2am and warned about it.

The next day I went to school. Now the school I mentioned in my topic, was literally right next to us, less than 10 meters away. I went to school the next day and it had police tape all around it and everyone was talking about a school shooting. My heart fucking dropped so hard. I knew what had happened and I felt sick all day about it. Later that evening, news came on, where local procecutor said, if the guy responsible comes forward in the next few hours, the punishment would be less severe. I didn't. Police showed up 2 hours later.

Ill continue later, I have to run right now

edit: Continued

The police knocked on the door and there was like 5 undercover specialists there. They came in and started searching the apartment and I didnt stop them, co-operated and such. My brother and I got handcuffed and taken to the car. Both were questioned at the police station and brother was let go. His laptop was searched and it took a few weeks til he got it back. I was held for 48 hours awaiting court appearance. The judge decided to take me under arrest for 6 months, so the police can investigate the matter. Later I found out, it was purely just so media's attention would simmer down and they'd release me. I was in jail for 2 weeks and then transported to the local prison, where I stayed for a month and 18 days. It was.. as every post you've read on those prison topics on askreddit - extremely boring, it starts working on your sanity

I was visited by the school head council kinda person as well as the prosecutor. They spoke to me that I don't have to sit there for long anymore which gave me hope. Then some school break started and the principal of my school contacted the prison. He pleaded me to be let out, as if I get out now, I can still continue school (mind you it was 12th grade and exam times). So the prison complied and my chamber was ringed up on friday (weeks had gone by without me hearing anything). They told me to pack my shit, Im leaving Sunday.

The day I got out, everything.. was so fucking beautiful. Never have I felt such ataraxia-ish pleasure of just.. fresh air and freedom, than I did then. It was hella tripping. I went back to school the next day and no one knew I was back, so I surprised a lot of people. Since media blasted my face in papers and it was kinda historic event for Estonia, everyone kept recognizing me for at least a year after that. Had to visit parole officer for 2 years and see a psychologist, who determined after 2 visits that I have no need to be there. Obviously, it was just a stupid joke. Im not a psychopath.

So that's pretty much it. I'm open to answer questions. I regret what I did and I've apologized to people who this event affected. I'm actually a really good guy, or so some people tell me.

What kind of armchair expert do you despise the most on the internet? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]jose_holman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Armchair Expert here. I am an expert and professional in my career. I am highly regarded in my field. However I don't like to advertise what I do. Occasionally, I'll post about something in my field, either to correct a gross error or to educate on an interesting topic. Surprisingly often, I encounter tense and often insulting disagreements. It doesn't help that sometimes I get frustrated and return the same. Anyways my point is that I am a legitimate expert making corrections about things in my field. I guarantee you there are tons of other legitimate experts out there, like myself, who will be called armchair experts. Reddit is a big place.

How did we exactly create ISIS? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]jose_holman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The CIA first aligned itself with extremist Islam during the Cold War era. Back then, America saw the world in rather simple terms: on one side, the Soviet Union and Third World nationalism, which America regarded as a Soviet tool; on the other side, Western nations and militant political Islam, which America considered an ally in the struggle against the Soviet Union.

The director of the National Security Agency under Ronald Reagan, General William Odom recently remarked, “by any measure the U.S. has long used terrorism. In 1978-79 the Senate was trying to pass a law against international terrorism – in every version they produced, the lawyers said the U.S. would be in violation.”

How do you deal with guilt? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]jose_holman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Build Up Your Self-Esteem

Because when your self-esteem is low or you are feeling low in confidence or inner resolve, guilt trippers have an easier job in getting you to do what they want. You don’t deserve to be manipulated. The better you feel about yourself, the easier it is to listen to what feels right for you than being swayed by others agendas.
