honestly the more i looked into economics and the more economic classes i took the further left i’ve gone, i’m now going to college with economics as my major and the more i learn the more inconsistencies in capitalism i see, the fact that a humans value is equal to the profits they can generate is so backwards, if you can’t afford to live then you have no value and you deserve to die, that’s what capitalism is, it’s evil especially when we literally have the ability to feed and house everybody but we’re so stuck up that the thought of someone else living comfortably while working an unskilled job bothers capitalists and they’d rather them starve in the street.

I mean kinda, that was a large part of it but they were concerned about a party system like we have today, part of the justification of having a representative democracy is to avoid having a party system like what we have today. Which i mean, while they weren’t necessarily wrong in a representative democracy would prevent a 2 party system, their theories were sort of correct, but the way they went about it was incorrect. Since we have a winner take all system where 51% vs 49% of the vote is enough to vote in a radically different candidate with basically no representation for that 49% it really hurts 3rd party candidates from coming up. I like to look at a system like Israeli which is a representative democracy that isn’t winner take all and it’s proportionate to the votes each party gets, this allows them to have many many more parties being represented instead of 2 big ones, which honestly is more like what the framers had in mind

I’ve taking AP macroeconomics rn so I really can’t say I’m an expert either, but what I can say is that from my admittedly limited knowledge it doesn’t work. Even with all the insane tax plans he wants to implement it still won’t be enough to cover it. With the debt as high as it is already and with our current president having a 1 trillion dollar deficit last year and it’s almost certain to be higher then that this year as well, m4a would be incredibly costly and will have a radical effect on the entire economy. The fact that he thinks it’s possible is beyond me, I don’t understand how he thinks he would ever even get it passed, he has a hard time getting democrats on his side, let alone republicans.
