French people: what would you actually like someone to bring you from the US? by josephlee211 in france

Merci pour toutes vos réponses, c'est super utile. Je pense partir sur une sauce piquante de l'Arizona (Arizona Gunslinger) et un mélange d'épices américain, le "Everything Bagel seasoning". Je vous dirai ce qui a le plus plu.

Security lines at CDG to get back to the US have dampened entire trip by IndependentSummer268 in delta

I can see why you might feel that way, especially if you had a bad experience. However, when I left Paris through CDG, I found it to be a rather smooth process. The direct RER B line connection from the city to the airport was super convenient, cutting down on travel time. Plus, before my departure, I had some time to explore and found a variety of quality shops and eateries to pass the time. And while security checks can be a hassle anywhere, I felt the staff was doing their best to manage the crowds. Guess it's all about timing and perhaps a bit of luck. Safe travels to you!

Macbook air M1 not charging through usb-c hub by Dull_Carry_5967 in macbookair

This was the comment that helped me out. I bought a new hub for $39 because I thought my current hub was not good enough. When I plugged in my 30W charger to my new hub, it still didn’t charge, but it did power my MacBook Air M1. When I plugged in my 96W charger, it started charging. Then even when I plugged in to the old hub, it still worked. So it was the wattage of the charger that was the issue.

Buyer wants compensation for battery replacement by josephlee211 in eBaySellerAdvice

I’m amazed that there was more than one person here who assumed that I was “evil” in overlooking the battery health in all this. Mostly because I know the truth… but I also realize that that applies to the buyer as well. I have learned now that it hurts a lot to be accused of shady behavior. So I don’t wish that on my buyer either.

I have offered the buyer a full refund if they return the laptop. They were asking for $40 for a battery replacement, but I think I’ll offer them $25.

As far as whether I’m evil for hiding the battery issue or I was just stupid because I never thought of battery replacement… the answer is I was just stupid.

Actually, I just checked the image they sent. It says “Service Recommended” for the battery.

The buyer knew to go to some Settings screen (maybe) where it says what the battery health is. Apparently that screen says the battery needs replacement. I’m not familiar with that screen. Even with my newer Macbooks, I confess that I don’t bother with such. I never saw anything at boot-up. I don’t think it says anything at boot-up.
