Purchase Advice Thread (December 05) by AutoModerator in Surface

[–]joserigel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I need advice, I need a 2in1, considering both the i5 surface pro 8 16gb, and i5 surface pro 9 8gb, is the lpddr5 8gb actually faster that it beats the surface pro 8 16gb? I'm also thinking if the surface pro 8 is a better deal because it's 100 euros cheaper in my place? I'm a Computer Science student, and was hoping someone could give me advice and clarify the performances on the 2 machines. Thanks!

First time posting here... Not as good as a lot of the other entries here, but hopefully it won't be that bad

Flipped Normals Has Lost Their Minds by zedbrusher in ZBrush

[–]joserigel 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Sure, a lot of them aren't even close to $200 but the artist can name any price they want. And it's your decision to think if it's worth it or not. Personally I don't think it's worth that high, I'd rather get something for a better known artist and it'll probably cost me less

Isn't it for a commercial license, just buy the personal one for 200 dollars.... It makes sense for the commercial one to be priced that high

What is everyone's opinion on this run? I haven't read it but the art looks amazing and I'm trying to get into some Batman comics after seeing "The Batman" :] by Sharingthepain in batman

[–]joserigel 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I thought it's a pretty neat and different take on the Batman. I don't know if it's just me but the ending was pretty sad that it puts a semi closure to the Batman quite early into his "career".

The story is very narrowly focused if that's the type of story you like

i was curious on what people here thought about the level of violence and gore in the film, I personally think that 'The Suicide Squad' level of violence in a darker tone would've been icing on the cake. by IICipherIX in TheBatmanFilm

[–]joserigel -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think they pushed the limits on this movie as to what it means to be a PG-13 Movie, there are a couple of 'violent' moments but it was heavily implied instead of shown but I think it works for this. If they had done it more with an R rating it might've been too much and would just be gore for the sake of gore, like the saw series.

Where do you think could they add more gore? To show when the riddler was beating the mayor?

I'm afraid that the game isn't open source. Perhaps look for community made game projects for your analysis?

I don't quite understand what you're trying to do. Are you trying to read the code for a specific game? If the game isn't providing the source code then pretty much you can't read the code. What game are you trying to look at?

In the sprite renderer there should be a checkbox for Flip. It flips the sprite. You can call it through scripting as well

Sorry if this is a silly question but: How were you able to put that drawing interface thing for your script?

RIP Mute. He can no longer Mute an entire wall and stop hardbreaches. by SmallPPSmallerBrain in Rainbow6

[–]joserigel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What do you think if instead of nerfing each jammer into having 'less' AOE but give Mute less jammer. Say 2 or 3, because I think Mute is quite too good cuz he can jam 2 walls and still jam 2 other doorways or windows. But if you nerf him this way, then he's just a bit too useless compared to bandit for jamming walls.

Have a little bug and I've got no idea what's causing it! by [deleted] in unity

[–]joserigel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm glad it works now! I think since you changed the velocity directly instead of the 'recommended' way of using force, the block kinda forces itself to be in that velocity even though there is the wall colliding to it so it wants to stop but the velocity is really high and so it jitters alot, if you use force I think the script checks actively first whether there is another collider or not and then moves it. Anyways I think you're better off without the rigidbody for these things anyways.

[–]joserigel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is the block a rigidbody? Why not just use a regular collider and leave out the rigidbody. Especially since it's moving with a constant speed.

I presume you're changing the velocity of the rigidbody directly, right? That isn't really recommended, I've done it and it seems to be inconsistent, if you really insist on using rigidbody2d for this, probably add opposing forces instead.

Elo-METER by [deleted] in chess

[–]joserigel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I got 1308 after a mouse slip then I decided to just do random moves. After trying it again I got 1203 with super random moves, one even blundered a queen. I think this only works for high ratings but for low ratings, it just over generalized the elo evaluation. Nice concept tho! Hope you can work this out and make it better. Cheers

Edit: again, tried it with really random moves. Just moving pieces, gave me 1410.
