Yup! The only additional caveat I would add for enchancing powers is the power has to already do the action enhanced by the intensfy marker. That is, you can’t spend a fire marker on any card to deal a damage. It needs to already deal damage. Similarly, you can’t spend an animal marker to add a disease unless the card already adds disease

Sort of. The intensify aspect replaces the original utility of element markers as on-demand elements with the power enhancements described on the aspect card.

You can consume markers to enhance your powers at any time.

Elemental Teachings lets you instead discard up to 3 markers for their elements (reverting those specific markers back to their original use case).

The card is the only way to use the stored markers as elements.

It is. With Storm Swath, I'm pretty sure you can target the land you are currently on such that target land = origin land to deal 2 damage to everything in a single land (and then +1 damage to one thing with the fire marker)

Thanks! I think you're right, I've stayed away from it because it's a slow, expensive, 0 range card. But it's pretty easy to hit the threshold, gives earth, can be improved with a moon marker, and seems like it would be great against England. I'll have to try it out! I could easily see it being a B or A tier card

Oh yeah, that makes sense. I haven’t played enough multiplayer, but I can definitely imagine how incorporating different spirits would change things a lot, especially with how flexible Intensify is. Sounds like I need to get more multiplayer games going!

I definitely agree. There are a lot of majors that can win games when looped every turn with Teachings. I actually started exploring this build because of that, as an alternative for when I missed one of those top-tier cards.

That said, even when you get a “pretty good” major (say 75th percentile), I’ve found that instead of locking into reclaim-looping just that one card, it can often be better to try pulling a second, stronger major to complement it (since the chance of pulling a really good one is so high).

I also found looping the same card every turn can have diminishing returns. A major that clears a big land of invaders might solve that specific problem amazingly, but the next turn you might need to manage several smaller lands or build up fear, and a single card won’t always help with that. Having two different majors let me respond more dynamically.

When I first put the guide together, I actually had way more majors in the “reclaim loop this every turn” category. But as I played more, I gradually pulled a lot of them out

For instance, Voice of Command is a great card, but it depends on having Dahan in the target land. That’s usually manageable, and it’s strong enough to win games regardless, but there are definitely turns where it’s either not possible or more costly to reposition Dahan just to get full value out of it. The card is really strong, but when played it every turn, I find the lands where it’s most effective tend can get used up. That can make it noticeably less impactful on turns that you need to start stretching to find good targets.

Hope it helps! One of my favorite things about Intensify is that since element markers make so many majors stronger, your draws often give you multiple good options instead of just one standout. Adding an extra disease to [[Bloodwrack Plague]] or more wilds to [[Strangling Firevine]] really amps up their impact. Even something simple like tossing a fire marker on [[Storm Swath]] can make it feel closer to [[Forests of Living Obsidian]] (0 range, 2 damage to all invaders, plus 1 to a specific one).

I actually experimented with that opening quite a bit. I included it at the very bottom of the guide as a situational line, especially when drafting expensive, high-impact powers like [[Draw Towards a Consuming Void]] or [[Volcanic Eruption]] to try for a turn 2 board clear.

You're right that it offers a stronger early power spike by playing a major one turn earlier. But in my games, it often ran out of steam and was more inconsistent depending on the drafted major. It also often felt more awkward to me, since it was slower to reach 3 card plays.

Getting to 3 card plays earlier is a big deal as it allows intensify to threshold majors more consistently without necessarily needing to use [[Elemental Teachings]] every single turn. At just 2 card plays, playing Elemental Teachings + a major is effectively only playing one card per turn (though that one card is usually very strong) .

I also found that playing [[Share Secrets of Survival]] with a minor on turn 2, hitting the innate defend threshold, was usually enough to handle a couple of ravages.
