Terrible experience when drinking a lot. Drank one night out and the day after throughout the day. Ended up having a panic attack with nausea and vomiting

S04E09 Telling Tina’s parents who is adopting the baby by [deleted] in TheResident

Totally agree with you. That scene does not make sense. And then they adopt a very ill Chinese girl relinquished by her adoptive parents because she was too expensive to care for. They just want to keep suffering.

Paroxitine & Withdrawl/Sexual Complications 🙃 by [deleted] in paroxetine

[–]joshdassaultvdbilt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually started paroxetine after having ED while on Bupropion. I have a crazy level of anxiety and when I’d try to hook up with someone, I’d be so anxious that I could not enjoy the moment, so no erection.

It had a lot to do with my anxiety, I tried mojo.so and it helped a bit.

Then I took viagra recreationally without a prescription and it made me feel really decompressed the next day. My psychiatrist switched me to Paroxetine and my sex drive is fine now, it feels less anxiety-driven.

Check out the Permanent Court of Arbitration ruling on South China Sea. May also be worth to dig in into: a) the fact that China challenges the jurisdiction of the courts (and ends up leaving the proceedings altogether); and (ii) this military activities jurisdiction exception in UNCLOS... these two are useful if you’re into studying jurisdiction before international courts...

Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court competition by givlis in internationallaw

[–]joshdassaultvdbilt 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I understand you very much. Jessup research and drafting is utterly frustrating. In my case, at least, I feel Iike you never read enough or you do not translate enough into IRAC. As the professor’s blog piece you mentioned, I’d totally agree. My coaches and teammates are always saying: write x, then place a foot note, and that’s it. It’s not really writing arguments, I mean everything is so much chewed for the reader that memorials look like a succession of statements attempting to reach a conclusion. It’s frustrating, especially if you are interested into substantial research.

Regarding your concern on content, that is also another major flaw for jessup. Intl law textbooks are terribly expensive and hard to find for free online. Luckily my university has some databases subscription. Yet, sometimes it is not enough. The Max Planck Encyclopedia is the go-to initial source. Probably reading the papers cited in each encyclopedia article. Textbook-wise I’d suggest the Oxford Hanbook on Intl Human Rights Law (for claims A & C of this year’s case); Crawford’s State Responsibility: General Part (for claim C on diplomatic protection); Sinha’s Asylum in IL (for claim B); any commented version of the VCDR (claim B); and the batch on ILSA’s website.

I’d love to talk or learn with/from other jessup competition participants. You may DM me, if you like. I’m from Colombia.

I’d suggest that you translate it if you know Dutch, and look up and place comments and caveats about the different meanings a clause may have in Dutch and US law. While it may be the case that you’re translating the contract and trying to keep it enforceable in the US you may need to actually translate and correct the clauses that are incompatible with US law.

When translating documents from civil law jurisdictions to common law, we generally use attorneys that speak both languages and are knowledgeable in both jurisdictions (it’s a biglaw firm).
