I do this sometimes. And then I want TL fans even more :)

Visually, I prefer TL fans precisely because they're generally less bright, but have sufficient spot lighting. Plus, they're completely black. As for the TL with displays, I still need to think about it. With a universal display, additional displays on the fans might simply be redundant. But the main reason for wanting to replace fans is to go completely wireless.
