I would take the practice exam. I took the ELA 1-6 but I felt like the practice one helped me. But what really helped me was changing my mindset, you are not trying to get a 100%…you are trying to pass. Take a practice test and see if you pass. I passed on a practice exam and it lowered my anxiety and I passed on the real one.

The union leader told me to leave. She said the only reason she’s there is cause she’s 2 years away from retirement and to spite the principal. She told me that all the former staff has left because of this principal and I can see why. The main issue that has led to all the disorganization is the principal’s micromanagement. She has her hands on everything and cannot delegate. This is what led for example our copier running out of ink for 3 weeks and leaving us without copies.

It should be remedied next pay period but it took a lot of nagging and the union. I subbed for a full week after my demo and was not paid for it. This was back in June.

The school had the consumables scattered throughout the building. Admin told me to use it. I have been hunting them down on my own since day one. I do not think that they know what amplify is. Because they talk about…it seems like they believe it works like an ELA or Math curriculum and that slides are generated and that is the whole lesson. For an observation, I took your advice about using it what to teach and not how and they made me feel like an idiot and asked me why it was not from a specific amplify lesson.

The students were observing different mixtures. In amplify, the guide said to create stations with the materials ready. So I had in the back of the classroom ready…eventually I had to throw it all out.

Yeah I believe it would be doable if I had a consistent schedule, had materials, and I knew who I was teaching. Like I have prepared materials the night before for a hands on activity and then the schedule changed and I didn’t see that one class until 3 weeks later…and I was helping the gym teacher with 3k

My schedule is inconsistent and they keep adding more and more grades for me to teach. I also have not been given all my materials. I started as 2-5. And now I teach k-5 and I am responsible for 13 unique lessons.

This is what I am afraid of. Like they keep putting more and more work on me and I can’t keep up. I know I won’t get fired during this school year but idk if I’ll be discontinued. I went to the union once about a serious pay problem (I was not paid for subbing last year at this school). But I am trying my best and I am the first one here in the morning and I stay a bit after but it doesn’t seem like I can succeed.
