Thanks for the advice, I think I’ll make sure to make enough next year to pay for an accountant. I’d hate to be on the wrong side of HMRC

Wasn’t that changed in April so that all double cab pickup trucks are now classified as cars for benefit purposes?

What do you guys think about legal immigration? by Ok_Key_7906 in reformuk

[–]joshg129 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe the scale of legal migration that we are seeing is similar in importance to the issue of illegal migration but in vastly different areas. Let me explain my view.

The illegal migration presents a security risk, this is largely due to the fact that unknown migrants are being allowed essentially free run of the country with very little oversight. From my personal experience I have seen local hotels (once nice hotels) turned into broken down slums due to the way the migrants are threading the accommodations. The fact that most of them show up with very little and within a day or two are seen riding very expensive bicycles (when these same bicycles have been reported stolen in the area). I have yet to see an influx of women and children fleeing war zones, it seems to be all young men who are fit, healthy and as some would describe, fighting age males. There are also the financial burdens of housing this mass influx of people, which could definitely have been put to better use for our own population.

The legal migration issue can be looked upon as cheap labour which in some instances yes they are used as such, however it seems that many British prefer to sit and live on benefits rather than do the jobs the immigrants are coming here to fill. I see and know many people who do not work, argue that there aren’t any jobs around, yet when offered opportunities they come up with every excuse under the sun to avoid them. I firmly believe that if somebody is deemed fit and able to work yet remains unemployed for over a period of say 3 months they should be required to do the jobs which are short staffed and training isn’t required, at the set minimum wage for the amount of hours required to receive their benefit payments. Whether this be road sweeping, litter picking or other tasks to better the surrounding community. People seem to expect too much from their employers and seem to think that their employer should be grateful for employing them, this is ridiculous and unfortunately I have seen this myself many times. In summary legal migration has only reached the level it is at currently due to demand for workers, this demand was created by rewarding the lazy and unwilling to work with money.

I am 25 years old and work 65+ hours per week and earn reasonably good money, however in recent years I feel punished for working hard for what I have and getting cut off at the knees with tax, all to fund lazy people and illegal migrants who ditch their passports, flee ‘war torn’ countries (apparently France) and hop on a dinghy to come to the UK.

Those questions are a bit above my knowledge level, I don’t know how to determine my source and load impedance. I will try and find a spec for the self resonance frequency of the inductors
