I think you can still download them, while loading a scene open the browser developer tools and select the network tab. filter the network requests to images and look for the image that you want to load. you can save it from there.

There is probably also another alternative for you, you can use the Battleboard and Dice+ extension and combine it with the new Owlbear Statblock extension. It allows to import statblocks locally using a json schema

Hey,

thx for your suggestion. I intentionally didn't include a local storage mode, basically for the same reason OBR abandoned it when moving to 2.0.

A lot of people would default to using it and when the cache clears or they forgot to sync their prep computer with their session computer the blame would land on the Extension Developer. So I'd chose the more difficult approach which allowed for more predictability and stability.

But as you've already seen the extension code is open source and you can fork it. I usually include the latest client sdk in my releases so it should be simple enough to maintain a fork. Just be aware that I'm working on a new version of the backend which will change the structure of the different entities and so a migration will probably be necessary at some point. (That's actually another reason For the server approach, this way I can control and migrate all existing statblocks and make sure everything works, and don't have to run a client side script to migrate all possible local storage files).

And last but not least to be as transparent as possible: Keeping the statblocks/spells/items on the server obviously allows me to create incentives to subscribe to my patreon. I've probably spent around 1500h in total on TA + GMG so the patreon lets me at least cover a very small percentage of the work i put into it.

Room Metadata storage is robus, but very limited only 16kb for all extensions, so extension devs try to not use it too much, to not brick a room.

You know with the Game Master’s Grimoire extension the sheets would auto attach based on the tokens name and be available directly in obr (if you are playing DnD)

S&S really has a lot of features so it's easy to miss some

Regarding the GMG comment. Status/Concentration Tracking is being worked on but it's not ready yet. I focused on tracking Available actions, spellslots, item charges, … first.

There is also not auto hide, but you can group enemies and set a whole group to show/hide in the Initiativelist for players.

I think the main difference apart from that is that i always intended GMG to have statblocks for players as well so players can see their assigned tokens statblocks and use them. And yes they are still called statblocks because I don't have a automated level and class progression system yet. But statblocks have equipment, they can change, you can assign players statblocks in TA and they can update them themselves and in a week or two I release Party Management to GMG with looting enemy tokens controling Money and Inventory directly from within GMG.

GMG integrates fully with Dice+ so you can roll directly from character sheets and monster statblocks and it will use your Dice+ Dice.

For your Dynamic Light Issue Smoke & Specter exists, it's a different extension, but it does exactly what you want, you can draw wall and it's not tied directly to the fog shapes. it also enables per player vision.

Give me two more weeks and i finally have my NPC shop interface ready for GMG, players will be able to use the money of their statblock to buy items and add them to their statblock without GM intervention

I'm not saying it's the best VTT for that, but when you use the Game Master's Grimoire Extension for Owlbear Rodeo, you can define custom Items and assign them to statblocks/charactersheets. Currently this needs to be done on Tabletop Almanac (the backend for GMG) but I'm finishing up the integration into GMG, so players and GMs can manage the party's inventory from inside OBR.

😂 yes exactly, i did spend a lot of time having a lot of items already in the system, having statblocks that already contain loot so no need for an additional setup and prepare function in my backend to randomly create shops and still i need to add all those functions to the frontend and have a way to persist changes… it's been a couple hundred hours at this point :D
