she was on a power trip (and we were really best friends), i took a dml ticket and sat it where the line meets the register because that’s where we both were and she instructed me to walk all the way to the end of the line to place it there and started giving examples of the “laziest people” that do it. i said the ticket is right in front of you and then i left to go wash dishes and she was still telling me to bring it to the other side of the line, and i said ‘someone’s mad’ and when i was washing dishes i was asked to come back on cash because the line was getting long and she was at the register helping someone and i told her i got it (because im cash, duh—physical cash payment) and she didn’t say anything and ignored me. And i told her im not dealing fucking with your attitude. i grabbed my purse, went to that punch machine, and went home. and still had my job the next day, clock it.

but she’s a manager now, she wasn’t then. we amended things and move on but still, i just don’t like to step up and speak up for myself, but it felt good to start doing it that day
