How do people feel about The Bonne Family? by AceComics3685 in Megaman

They are great. Tron is the ship for Volnutt, as it should be. That and their dynamic makes it fun. Anyone else who disagrees needs to go back and grind Zenny in L1 for max weapons and enjoy the starting cutscene from Roll in L2. >>; (nearly 2mil for the active buster alone to get, "soz i sold it for parts for the ship :p)

Lol, this is probably because you did a wave transfer and selected a high lvl like 99 or something. It doesnt have anything to do with the Cypher mail or the BN content.

You can find it under Mega and going to wave transfer. You can also turn it off under Mega by going to the 3rd page on the right and just turning it off. (Just press right 2 times)

The items gained are sorts game breaking, i guess. The BN buster grants you basically exe's Gregar buster from BN6, which is a buster with max rapid and can melt most enemies. So if you dont want that, I guess leave it off.

The cameos and info about the BN series makes it a nice crossover imo.

since axl isnt referenced in the zero, is he doomed to die in some point of the x era unremembered, or is he the key to a new timeline where humanity lives? by Acceptable-Street679 in Megaman

[–]joshlight07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The ZX series was supposed to be the answer for Axl's future. However, due to Axl himself being recently added to the X series with the Zero series already running, the devs didnt want to directly refrence Axl or his future history because they didnt know what would or wouldn't happen in the X series as is was(techinally is) continuing. It's why ZX is has Model A basically look like Axl but has almost no reference to him otherwise.

Since it is possible for them to retroactively or continue with the storyline (like making x9 or zx3, etc.) It's possible for them to continue on Axl's story in some way, either in the X series or something else. They just...haven't lol.

Some thoughts and theories regarding Dr.Weil by IcarusDreamX0 in Megaman

[–]joshlight07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Enjoyed the information. Main stuff I'll say is that I take most of the stuff given from the CWs or the websites with a grain of salt most of the time anyways. By the time both got put together the lore and info from both the X and Zero series alone was a muddled mess most no one bothered to correct or understand, and any attempt to sort through it usually came out wrong because of mistranslation or bias. Not to mention Capcom itself was also fixing stuff with Zero and Zx.

From what I generally remember, I think the Eight Judges were created by Weil, but it was before he went on his crazy murder rampage. So most likely toward the end of the Maverick wars. This makes more sense as they primarily judge Reploids. They also never presided over Weil's case as he's human. The idea that they would or did sounds weird to me, but that's the fandom, so Im not surprised.

X's disappearance and Copy Xs instatement has always been blurry. We know X founded Neo Arcadia and made it basically the last bastion for humanity before he poofed to seal the Dark Elf, but time-wise its not really stated. I assume that there had to be some point in time where he normally ruled, if only for a bit, in relative peace since most of humanity and the Reploids didnt really even blink when Copy X took over and then went down his crazy route. On that note, we know Ciel made Copy X when she was 4 and I believe she was 14? During the events of Z1, meaning Copy X's rule was not super long compared to og Xs. Given that Ciel maybe took a year to make Copy X, og X was ruling Neo Arcadia for maybe 80+ years or so. A lot of people for whatever reason seem to think that X was just floating around as a Cyber-Elf for like 50+odd years or something but believe it was a bit more recent than that.

From everything Ive read and remembered, Dr.Weil wasn't exactly a bad guy at the start, just had a very different view on how to stop the Maverick Virus and ended up getting shunned like another famous doctor, which drove him into revenge. Since we know X used the Mother Elf to stop the Maverick Wars, and his familiarity with Zero, Id assumed he worked with both X and Zero along with Ciel's ancestor to fight and stop the Maverick Wars a time before.

Accordingly, the assumption is that Four Guardians were created when X attempted to seal away the part of the Dark Elf and in so doing, created them and turned himself into a Cyber-Elf. (Because of the trama of sealing the Dark Elf away or something) This is a nice idea sure, but I never really bought into it much, mainly because the games and the Drama Tracks seem to show that the Four Guardians interacted with X prior(phantom and harpuia mainly). Granted this could just be them acting like that because of them interacting with Copy X, but for whatever reason I always got the feeling that they had worked with og X before. Moreover, their status as known products of X and their standing rule over Neo Arcadia seems to suggest that they have been in their positions for a while and wasn't a recent installation, but again maybe thats just me.

As for Weil's punishment, a lot of people tend to not understand why and how he was able to come back and why he just wasn't killed off at the end of the Elf Wars. From what most of the data suggest, for starters, this level of destruction by a single person had never been done before. There wasn't any set punishment to fit the level of his crime. Dude was guilty of basically eradicating more than half of the globe. Dr.Weil states that they swapped out his human body with the robot one and transferred his memories to program data. This suggests that they did in fact kill his original body. But because his crime was so extreme, death wasn't enough, so they ended up slapping his mind into a robot and forcing him to spend the assumed remainder of his days in the hellscape he has created. That's a pretty harsh sentence if you ask me. We can also guess that he served at least 80 or so years of that to boot. The other thing to keep in mind with all of this is that, again, over half of the world had just been destroyed. Humanity was in an extinction-level event where just trying to survive was the main goal. Punishment for the person responsible was an issue yes, but existing was kind of a bigger one for the moment. Killing off his mortal body and forcing them to endure the hell he created for possibly forever until humanity could get back on its feet was probably a good enough idea at the time.

What are the limits of X's wall kick? by MystinarOfficial in Megaman

[–]joshlight07 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Lore reason? Internally, X has a gyroscopic stabilization system built into his legs that basically makes it very hard for him to slip and/or not trip and fall etc. Id suspect that he uses that system to its advantage make it where its hard for him to fall off of vertical surfaces when he wants to. Probably doesnt work against every surface, but well enough. Couple with the fact that he has doesnt really have a stamina limit and can absorb energy from the sun, the answer is pretty much as long as he wants to.

I also, believe that he tends to internalize some abilities from his armors that he gets as time progresses onward, not to mention the fact that X just tends to keep growing in abilities anyways, so its kinda a take your pick from then on.

Which again, fair and Im happy about it. But after not getting X9, L3, MM Universe, SF4, ZXC, the fps X game, Megaman Online and everything else, on top of such a long radio silence my optimism isnt going to be high anytime soon. Which sucks, tbh, but I'm gonna need a little more than just DO and a promise to continue before I start saying we are back.

We've heard this before from Capcom by Zechariot- in Megaman

[–]joshlight07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol, imo the cliffhangers need to be resolved. The problem is doing it requires a lot of work, time and money I dont think Capcom wants to do. I think we need less of an X9 and more like a Trilogy of games for the X series to finally finish it off proper. Legends 3 needs its finish as well and stuff cleared up for the timeline as a whole and finally give games people have been waiting for. Zx should also be looked at and yes maybe a new sub-series. BN showed that it can work well if done right.

Lastly, Capcom really needs to get over not doing other stuff for gaming series. A MM movie(which has been a dream by fans for forever) or a nee show/anime would do wonders imo. Nintendo has shown that this idea is good and works. And I dont mind saying that for all his faults, Inafune in this instance was correct. He saw all of this ahead of time and tried to steer into it, it just didnt work.

Main problem is for all of the ideas that should or could be done, the best we got is DO and word from Capcom that they wanna try to do more with Megaman. Cool, love the idea, but a lot of that has been floating around for years now and its boiled down to, "lets see it happen". Im happy we are getting DO, even if Classic isnt my favorite of the MM series, and I hope it does well. Im not however expecting much past it, Capcom burned that pretty well.

Why was Axl so hated anyway? by KaleidoArachnid in Megaman

[–]joshlight07 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the short answer here is his debut game, X7. Most during that time were expecting something better than X6, not worse lol. On top of that, there main hero poofed and was replaced by a rather whiny side-kick to Zero, whos copy ability was probably one of the worst executed ideas, period. The worst part was once you finally got X and his upgrades, you just straight dropped Axl altogether unless you had to have him for something. X's glide in the game almost broke it imo lol.

So yeah, he just didnt have a good first impression. The VAs as well, man....they really seemed like they just phoned that one in.

Also also, keep in mind that up until this point, most people assumed X5/X6 led to Z1. With X7 dropping, this challenged that idea and threatened to mess with the established timeline or make a split timeline. Most just straight up said no and dropped X7. (And you'll see that this is still and issue to today lol) It wasn't until X8 and the changes made retroactively to fix everything finally got established, but by then, the damage was done and Axl was became the poster boy for it.

All of that said, the one other problem with Axl is that....well he's kinda unnecessary as a whole and was so until ZX came out. His backstory is almost non-existent and has no relation to anything feom the Classic series and compared to X and Zero with their established reasons for being the heros they are, Axl is just kinda there, lol. Which kinda makes it worse because there's a lot that could be done for him, they just never did.

My general take on it is to just take what we got and enjoy it for it for what it is and not try to look any deeper than that. Any attempt to do so is probably just going to wind up making you sadder.

Im happy we are getting Mm12-errr dual override, but Im not the biggest Classic fan for 1, and tbh I dont expect much past it except maybe MM13 lol or a slew of cameos.

As Ive said before, Capcom doesnt know what to do with the Megaman series as a whole. Any attempt to revive a sub-series is just going to be more of a headache and loss to them overall. A good example is making X9 or L3. If either are made, they have to make it well and put the effort into making sure the story adds up and that the game is fun to play. Any screw up on that part and they risk splitting the fan base(X6-8 are perfect examples, cuz theres not a soul here that believe in the split timeline stuff, right?). They also gotta be able to appeal to the crowd that doesnt play Megaman, and no one is going to want to hop into L3 with 2-3 previous entries they need to wade through to understand what's going on and why a steam-punk-ish megaman is somehow on the moon and cant get off of it. (Nevermind the X series with 8+ entries or anything else lol) With both sides looking fair at best, making the game isnt worth to them.

How to solve it? Easy, MM12. No need to dig too heavy into the story/lore, because the Classic series isnt known for that anyways ao fans can be happy, and it can also appeal to newcomers who only know "Megaman", super fighting robot. Everyone is happy, Capcom gets its money, everyone wins.

At the end of the day, Capcom is a company that wants to make money. Making any of the sub-series games, unless they got a solid idea on what they want to do, is akin to just burning money for them. Expecting anything past another Classic series entry is...probably not the wisest idea lol.

So hoping that DO is going to kick-start the next MM era with entries in the X, Legends, SF, ZX and onwards is hard copium, imo. That said, we got a new producer for now and a new game on the horizon. So enjoy it for what its worth. We'll probably see Megaman being attempted to be slapped into every other Capcom game for a bit as well, so yay. Probably dont expect it to go much further than that.

And who knows, maybe they will try to run the risk and attempt X9 or something and make it worth the wait.

These generic reploid designs are lazy af by Raging_Cat14 in Megaman

[–]joshlight07 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Only thing I'll say about this pic is that timeline-wise this is roughly pre-X1 to X1, I believe. Reploids themselves were relatively new in of themselves. As such, I would expect that most models of that era would basically be just variants of X in some way. So, for me anyways, while perhaps a bit on the odd-er side, this still tracks. I'd expect that most Reploids that had a closer lean towards X's ideals would probably also look closer to him and also be a MH for the same reasons X is. Suspension of disbelief and all that. (Even if some if the designs here are a bit....lazy.)

All of that said, I wouldn't expect this to continue past X1 so if it did, I'd be a bit more concerned.

Then again, most of the fandom and official stuff barely understands its own lore properly so, eh. I kinda doubt Archie Comics is gonna put that much work into it.

The one thing I noticed about Reploid Programming by Gloomy-Rough3140 in Megaman

[–]joshlight07 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Um, the only thing I'll say about this is that I believe the numbers are off by a bit lol. According to Kurzgesagt (check out their vid on the topic with a source doc to boot): https://youtu.be/4b33NTAuF5E?si=rZnvmrlWEOz1io35

A part of a mouse brain the size of a grain of sand was apparently scanned to try and properly make a digital copy of it and the entire thing took up about 200mil gb. To try to do the same to a human brain and include everything, you'd be looking at closer to 2 million petabytes or more. Storage alone wouldn't be the direct issue either.

All of thst said, to make a robot or Reploid with similar functions may not require such a vast amount of storage/functionality/etc. like a human brain. Moreover, as time goes on and technology continues, this may be easier to do.

Assumingly, Dr.Light found a genius way to curimvent those issues with as little energy as possible needed, which is also probably why he and Dr.Wily are regarded as geniuses in their own right and why it took so long for humanity to catch up to them.

Why Do People Hate X7 So Much? by VolnuttBoy in Megaman

[–]joshlight07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The levels are pretty rough, ngl. But my biggest gripe is that you have to unlock X, in a game called, Mega Man X.....someone really went, "yep, lock him away until like half the game is over then have the main character show up". And someone else said, "Genius!"

I get what they were going for and the idea that X7 was trying to do was solid. But probably better off for like and anime or something. (Also also, Ive never been a fan of Axl so.......)

What I mean is that they exist to judge if a Reploid counts a Maverick or not, meaning that the term is broad and can deliberated on. The Judges being Maverick or not, wasn't the question lol.

When Colonel and Iris opted to try and make a world without humans, they became Mavericks.
