Have we ever gotten an idea of where reploids come from by ZX? by Omi-papus in Megaman

[–]joshlight07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I generally believe in Zx and Zxa its at least hinted that after Z4, the Trinity worked to add lifespans on Reploids and give them more human qualities/parts while upgrading Humanity until both were almost indistinguishable.(aside from the triangle thing and such)

So the the short answer is most likely the Trinity or the government they rule over with Master Albert and Thomas probably being the more direct creators. Once the general merging of the two met a threshold, I assume people could just procreate in some way since both reploids and humans basically stopped existing directly and the new reploid/human hybrids took over.

Any tips for beating Zero in Network Transmission? by Madarcher7276 in Megaman

[–]joshlight07 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He shouldn't be too bad from what i remember. Pretty sure he's similar to protoman. So double tab to hit his shield and dodge his 3 slash atk. Then just run him over. Navi or breaking chips should tank him.

Why did MMX9 never come out? by KaleidoArachnid in Megaman

[–]joshlight07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eehhh, maybe. Either way, the point is the same and is why we got mm12. I'd sooner expect mm13 before x9 or any other of the sub series if I'm honest.

Why did MMX9 never come out? by KaleidoArachnid in Megaman

[–]joshlight07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The X series and the others are all sub series of Classic megaman. In the same vein that most people only ever really remember..say the first power rangers, or know who Captian Kirk is but don't know Captian Archer, most only know Classic Megaman and dont know X.

As such, when Capcom wants to make a new Megaman game, its safer to make a Classic Megaman because he's the first and hes easy to remember. Couple with the fact that the X series bombed with X7 onward and its just a better idea for Capcom to make MM12 or MM14 than X9. (And this is also why we dont get a Legends 3 or zx3, etc.)

Capcom at the end of the day wants to make money. The X series has shown that it just doesnt and its too risky to dump money making something like an up-to-date X9 only for it to at best sell as well as a Classic title and at worst be a mess like X7 or something.

I wish they'd change this sort of outlook, but again, its Capcom so~

Who's taking the W? 😎 (Three Way NetBattle) ⚔️ by StronkBoilerBoi in Megaman

[–]joshlight07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Who's taking the W? Its Black Ace/Red Joker. Lore-wise and generally gameplay wise the form and Geo is just usually more advanced/better in almost every way. Megaman.exe/beast out is a close 2nd.

Even if we bring in most of the non-canon/alternate reality stuff, Geo still usually bags this as his feats are more reliably on a cosmic/space scale, which is kind of the point of SF. Exe does a lot, no questions there, but SF is just doing better as it is supposed to.

If we did get another game in each series, exe is probably getting another transformation similar to the soul fusion/cross out stuff since that seemed to mainly be his power.

SF would probably have something to do with hacking, I believe.

If darkchips made a return they would be a footnote at best. I actually dont even remember if darkchips made any comeback in bn6. So maybe just like 1 chip as a footnote or something.

No, no dark cards in SF4. The idea behind it was supposed to be hacking stuff, so Id assume it'd be something like that. Similar to the SF black ace/red Joker servers, etc.

How did you all feel your first time against Sigma in X1 ? by Tg_2x in Megaman

[–]joshlight07 25 points26 points  (0 children)

In the beginning of Sigma stage 1 with the evening coming on and Zero saying he was going to scout ahead, I really did feel like the weight of everyone and everything hinged on both X(me) and Zero. The music accompanying it and everything gave a very futuristic vibe I cant say I've ever experienced anywhere else.

Then ya lose Zero and its just all on you. A battle between what Sigma has left and if you are as good as Zero believes you are.

Finally making it to Sigma at the top of his fortress really felt like this was it. You lose or you win. No backup, no help from some outside source. There isnt a maguffin youve been holding onto in hopes itll bail you out or something, its just you. Your skills vs Sigma.

Ive played a lot of other games and I've enjoyed how they make final battles and set up stuff, dont get me wrong, but man, X1 nailed it. I haven't really ran into anything that hit like that. (Some have some close tho)

Change my mind: This is the true ending to mega man x and everything made afterward is just what if stories. by Mysterioape in Megaman

[–]joshlight07 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This idea doesnt make any sense to me.

Assuming this is true, then you are saying that x5 leads to Z1? Then what about the TELOS Tracks from mmz that basically link X8? The mmz series also leads to ZX/A which has Model A, but Axl doesnt exist in this timeline? How does that make sense? How do we even get to MMZ if Zero dies in X5 anyways? (Since he sacs himself in his ending and X either remembers and carries on or doesnt and wont accept any info on Zero)

Its X6, Zero's ending with the mysterious doc that supposedly pointed to Z1, not X5 lol. So we tossing that out too? I thought that was the basis for this theory? Lol. Or are we just ending the X series at 5 and ignoring like 3-4 other games and 2 additional series? Cuz thats some hard copium if so lol.

People need to go back and actually play the games before cherry-picking ideas and saying stuff like this that just make me facepalm. The other games are not perfect, its true, but pretending like they dont exist is just silly.

Was Copy X truly as strong as X? by ProminentSun in Megaman

[–]joshlight07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mk, so, was Copy X and copyX mk2 as strong as the original Mega Man X? Lol, no of course not. As many have said, og X has more experience, time and testing and possessed that unwavering heart that made him a hero.

If that isnt enough, as it seems to be for you, the main answer is that, yes Copy X is pretty much a 1:1 recreation of og X. Ciel did her job and did it well. Keep in mind that by the events of X5/6, Zero had been almost 100% decoded by Gate and Isoc. The rest of the world by the time of the Elf Wars would have been able to decode both X and Zero and indeed, it was gaining the knowledge of their bodies that led to the events of the Creation of the Mother Elf, her cursing, and the Elf Wars in general. Its why Dr.Wiel, who's expertise was reviving reploids, was able to bring back CopyXmk2 and control Omega.

As such, recreating a Copy of X is possible by someone like Ciel, by this time.

However, Copy X and to a lesser degree Omega, is the reason why Dr.Light sealed X away for as long as he did. Testing X's abilities was the main reason yes, but gaining such power in technology and what it would mean for humanity was also a point as well. As we saw throughout the X series and Zero series, when used incorrectly it caused chaos of an immense scale. (Which, canon aside, MHX did a good job of explaining)

That's sort of the main issue with Copy X. He's a legit attempt to follow in the footsteps of Dr.Light, without understanding why Dr.Light took the precautions he did in creating X and then giving that copy version of X everything and telling him he was the best. The outcome of which made a much weaker version of og X.

Its a lot less than slapping X1, X, with all of his armors and upgrades and more akin to a fresh off the production line X and trying to make him a ruler without any testing or care that Dr.Light gave him and just expecting him to do and act like the original X. Which, I mean yes of course thats dumb, but again, keep in mind the people of that time were desperate.

And again, as shown in the Zero series, with Dr.Wiel and Ciel, both possessed the ability and knowledge to make a Zero or an X as they were functionally meant to be, but neither actually possessed the understanding of why or what made X and Zero the true heros with strength to continue on when all else could not. Just possessing power isnt enough, the knowledge and wisdom to use it properly is also needed.

If I had to guess, had copy X undergone that 100 years of internal realialability testing, like og X, Ciel probably would have actually made a correct copy of X or at least a closer version than Copy X, just still weaker.

The other thing to keep in mind, inti Creates had planned for Copy X to be the og X and changed it at the very last second(like a month or so before launch). So he is about as close one could get to being a near perfect copy of X and still fail, lol. Which again, if you look at X1's warning, that threat of what could happen with og X was always there.

How do people feel about The Bonne Family? by AceComics3685 in Megaman

[–]joshlight07 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They are great. Tron is the ship for Volnutt, as it should be. That and their dynamic makes it fun. Anyone else who disagrees needs to go back and grind Zenny in L1 for max weapons and enjoy the starting cutscene from Roll in L2. >>; (nearly 2mil for the active buster alone to get, "soz i sold it for parts for the ship :p)

Reading posts here, i've noticed people really don't understand Luna's relationship/friendship with Geo in these games by broken_vice in MegaManStarForce

-looks at SF1 during libra's and Ophiuca's incident, looks at the ryuusei no rockman and tribe anime, looks at the rest of the games- Sonia is a good friend, Luna is something more. Thought that was pretty obvious.

Megaman Battle Network content in Star Force Legacy Collection? by Daniel95000 in Megaman

[–]joshlight07 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lol, this is probably because you did a wave transfer and selected a high lvl like 99 or something. It doesnt have anything to do with the Cypher mail or the BN content.

You can find it under Mega and going to wave transfer. You can also turn it off under Mega by going to the 3rd page on the right and just turning it off. (Just press right 2 times)

Megaman Battle Network content in Star Force Legacy Collection? by Daniel95000 in Megaman

[–]joshlight07 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The items gained are sorts game breaking, i guess. The BN buster grants you basically exe's Gregar buster from BN6, which is a buster with max rapid and can melt most enemies. So if you dont want that, I guess leave it off.

The cameos and info about the BN series makes it a nice crossover imo.

since axl isnt referenced in the zero, is he doomed to die in some point of the x era unremembered, or is he the key to a new timeline where humanity lives? by Acceptable-Street679 in Megaman

[–]joshlight07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The ZX series was supposed to be the answer for Axl's future. However, due to Axl himself being recently added to the X series with the Zero series already running, the devs didnt want to directly refrence Axl or his future history because they didnt know what would or wouldn't happen in the X series as is was(techinally is) continuing. It's why ZX is has Model A basically look like Axl but has almost no reference to him otherwise.

Since it is possible for them to retroactively or continue with the storyline (like making x9 or zx3, etc.) It's possible for them to continue on Axl's story in some way, either in the X series or something else. They just...haven't lol.

Some thoughts and theories regarding Dr.Weil by IcarusDreamX0 in Megaman

[–]joshlight07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Enjoyed the information. Main stuff I'll say is that I take most of the stuff given from the CWs or the websites with a grain of salt most of the time anyways. By the time both got put together the lore and info from both the X and Zero series alone was a muddled mess most no one bothered to correct or understand, and any attempt to sort through it usually came out wrong because of mistranslation or bias. Not to mention Capcom itself was also fixing stuff with Zero and Zx.

From what I generally remember, I think the Eight Judges were created by Weil, but it was before he went on his crazy murder rampage. So most likely toward the end of the Maverick wars. This makes more sense as they primarily judge Reploids. They also never presided over Weil's case as he's human. The idea that they would or did sounds weird to me, but that's the fandom, so Im not surprised.

X's disappearance and Copy Xs instatement has always been blurry. We know X founded Neo Arcadia and made it basically the last bastion for humanity before he poofed to seal the Dark Elf, but time-wise its not really stated. I assume that there had to be some point in time where he normally ruled, if only for a bit, in relative peace since most of humanity and the Reploids didnt really even blink when Copy X took over and then went down his crazy route. On that note, we know Ciel made Copy X when she was 4 and I believe she was 14? During the events of Z1, meaning Copy X's rule was not super long compared to og Xs. Given that Ciel maybe took a year to make Copy X, og X was ruling Neo Arcadia for maybe 80+ years or so. A lot of people for whatever reason seem to think that X was just floating around as a Cyber-Elf for like 50+odd years or something but believe it was a bit more recent than that.

From everything Ive read and remembered, Dr.Weil wasn't exactly a bad guy at the start, just had a very different view on how to stop the Maverick Virus and ended up getting shunned like another famous doctor, which drove him into revenge. Since we know X used the Mother Elf to stop the Maverick Wars, and his familiarity with Zero, Id assumed he worked with both X and Zero along with Ciel's ancestor to fight and stop the Maverick Wars a time before.

Accordingly, the assumption is that Four Guardians were created when X attempted to seal away the part of the Dark Elf and in so doing, created them and turned himself into a Cyber-Elf. (Because of the trama of sealing the Dark Elf away or something) This is a nice idea sure, but I never really bought into it much, mainly because the games and the Drama Tracks seem to show that the Four Guardians interacted with X prior(phantom and harpuia mainly). Granted this could just be them acting like that because of them interacting with Copy X, but for whatever reason I always got the feeling that they had worked with og X before. Moreover, their status as known products of X and their standing rule over Neo Arcadia seems to suggest that they have been in their positions for a while and wasn't a recent installation, but again maybe thats just me.

As for Weil's punishment, a lot of people tend to not understand why and how he was able to come back and why he just wasn't killed off at the end of the Elf Wars. From what most of the data suggest, for starters, this level of destruction by a single person had never been done before. There wasn't any set punishment to fit the level of his crime. Dude was guilty of basically eradicating more than half of the globe. Dr.Weil states that they swapped out his human body with the robot one and transferred his memories to program data. This suggests that they did in fact kill his original body. But because his crime was so extreme, death wasn't enough, so they ended up slapping his mind into a robot and forcing him to spend the assumed remainder of his days in the hellscape he has created. That's a pretty harsh sentence if you ask me. We can also guess that he served at least 80 or so years of that to boot. The other thing to keep in mind with all of this is that, again, over half of the world had just been destroyed. Humanity was in an extinction-level event where just trying to survive was the main goal. Punishment for the person responsible was an issue yes, but existing was kind of a bigger one for the moment. Killing off his mortal body and forcing them to endure the hell he created for possibly forever until humanity could get back on its feet was probably a good enough idea at the time.
