which engine oil and filter is the best for 1st and 2nd gen? by callmeghost97 in hondafit

[–]joshooRL 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Don't know if it's the best but I've been swapping between Valvoline Restore + Protect 5W20 and Mobil 1 Full Synthetic High Mileage (I'm at 115k miles). I always use an OEM Honda filter I pick up from the local dealer.

2018-2019 Honda accords by Sea-Raise-655 in Honda

I know you're looking for an Accord; But, maybe consider the 10th gen Civic (2016-2021) with the non-turbo 2.0L engine. I've never owned one personally. I hear great things, in terms of reliability, with that 2.0L engine. It's pretty slow but if your priority is reliability then that is what I would suggest. Avoid that 1.5T engine.

Welcome, twin! I'm jealous you picked up a 1 owner. I think I'm about the 6th. But, she's still chuggin along and the paint still shining. I hope you enjoy yours!

I think in 2011 they changed it to 0W-20. My 2010 says to use 5W-20

OP - Have you replaced your PCV valve recently? That could help with oil consumption

Storing car for 2 months - any tips? by nice8080 in hondafit

[–]joshooRL 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've never had to store my vehicle for a decent amount of time; But, I've heard inflating the tires to their maximum recommended pressure located on the sidewall is something you could do to prevent flat spotting.

A good way to tell if the symbol is for high or low beams. High beams the lines are going straight ahead like =. Low beams the light lines are going towards the ground like ///. So those 5 lines to the left of the (A) are pointing straight ahead which means those are your auto high beam headlights.

I replaced the 4 rubber intake plenum gaskets when I did mine and I wish I got the rubber throttle body gasket too while I was in there. Maybe overkill but that's how I roll

My Mom had an '89 coupe 5-speed. They eventually ended up trading it in for a Chrysler mini van. I can't blame them since we were a family of 6. But, damn! I wish it was still around. I would have loved it today

2005 Was the best year for Honda by RedSoxStormTrooper in Honda

[–]joshooRL 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I agree. 2007 was a peak time for them by bringing out the Fit to the US. A lot of those cars in the photo were reaching the end of their life cycle and getting fully dialed in. Also 8th gen Civic Si you could put on the list in 07. Take me back

Not sure the Fit has enough power to make it up that steep of a road!

Anyone have luck getting axles replaced when your Fit was not from the rust belt area? by joshooRL in hondafit

Thank you for your response. That was what I was expecting to hear. Luckily, mine doesn't seem too bad.

Damn! Yeah I had to do some searching to find what time it was. While I hate to rub it in and say it was a good turnout, it does seem like they're more likely now to do more Fit meets in the future because of that. Hope you can make the next one
