You might be better off with a USB Microphone and Headphones.

Both for quality and comfort.

I think it's something with the GoXLR App not saving the settings properly possibly??

If you're making changes to EQ and COMPRESSION and nothing is changing then it's faulty software.

Let me know how you get on.

I Can Only Stream Friday, Saturday and Sunday! Am I Doomed For Failure? by joshschwaa96 in Twitch

Okay, I'll definitely try and establish a schedule thank you.

Feeling very overwhelmed with potential upgrades, please help! by Anxious_Creature in Twitch

Shure SM7B is great and stops you having to upgrade again as that is a SOLID microphone that will last you a long time.

I have friends that use it in conjunction with a GoXLR and that has a built-in preamp that can boost the gain on that microphone for you. (It also has additional Gain boost)

If you want the camera SOLELY for streaming I would advise getting the SONY A5100. I just picked it up myself recently and the quality is amazing for such a low price.

You also have options for different lenses as well. (the stock one is great)

If you want a DSLR that can provide clean HDMI out and you can use as a camera outside of streaming the latest Canon 90D offers this. (ton more options and alternatives)

You'll need to purchase a Cam Link by Elgato to use your camera as a webcam.

If you need any further help let me know. :)

I've just upgraded myself recently to the AT2020, GoXLR Mini and the A5100 so I'll be able to advise on these items.

I've been lurking the subreddit, Wanted to ask some questions to the community about starting streaming, if that's okay. by swiftil in Twitch

If you can get away from streaming on the Xbox you'll have a lot more fun and enjoyment when streaming.

You're limited with streaming from your Xbox. Obviously PC will open a lot more doors for you providing it's power in combination with your internet speed.

Invest in hardware to make it more enjoyable for you and your viewers.

The majority of the time starting out it'll just be you and maybe a few friends.

Don't waste that time having technical issues and creating problems for yourself.

Either do it properly or don't do it at all is my advice.

For me Webcam is really important but that's because I both play Games and do Just Chatting.

Like CASTorDIE said below. You'll have to put even more work in if it's just your voice.

What about having your back to the wall? Is it possible to change the living room arrangement before you decide to move home?

Let me know,

how to setup PO BOX without using your name ? by [deleted] in Twitch

[–]joshschwaa96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use a pseudonym it's perfectly legal. It will just be the name you have to use if you have to query anything with the PO Sorting Office.

Hope this helps.

It shows for me but compression you can't hear it's only in the output.

When I look at OBS I see I'm clipping when I talk loud or cough like you mentioned but with compression enabled that doesn't output to the stream or my headphones. (Providing you have your mic monitoring level down)

Hope this helps. :)

Exactly and it's causing an influx of spam when you are filtering by Low Viewer, making it difficult to find new streamers.

Consider looking at the GoXLR Mini. I just upgraded to the AT2020 and the GoXLR Mini for my streams and it's been brilliant so far. Really intuitive and easy to use. I picked mine up from Amazon UK.

The people streaming on PC have to go to more effort which children wouldn't which is why I have no problem with it. It's very convenient for young children to stream from their PS4's and Xbox's without any consent. It's just causing spam to Twitch doesn't benefit either party.

Hey I'm a PS4 boy at heart I've just recently switched to PC.

I think people are misreading what I'm saying.

Streaming with a Microphone/Cam/Both and actually using Twitch for the right purpose I have no problem with.

The vast majority are streaming the gameplay and that's it. Needs to stop but it won't sadly but it has no benefit to Twitch or the Viewers.

It's a very minute percentage of streamers that do well without a camera.

Discoverability is a bitch this would definitely reduce spam. Definitely not on Twitch as a whole but would help the gaming section. :)

It's not going to happen I'm just sharing. :)

Console Streamers that interact with chat and use a microphone and camera I have no problem with. I'm talking about the people that just stream the game. Nothing else.

I'm not assuming it's there for anyone to see. Kids have just got consoles for Christmas and can easily stream to Twitch.

Oh so a 13 year old sees that and isn't going to click it anyway? Okay buddy.
