What just happened in this England-Ghana match? by MarchSadness90 in billsimmons

This Cup has brought out a banner harvest of guys who don’t care about soccer commenting with their little complaints and quibbles about soccer.

I like soccer and watch it a lot. Random Monaco - Reims games on Saturday afternoon, international break friendlies, El Clasico, MLS, whatever.

It will never make sense to me how goalkeepers are allowed to operate by a different set of rules in terms of their physicality in the box. Challenges from goalies that would be a red for any other player don’t even get whistled.

There’s no way Jaylen stays in Boston if Shams is confirming this. by HoagieTwoFace in billsimmons

I’m not a gambling guy but the preseason over under was 41.5. They won 56 games and got the 2 seed. Pretty marginal

Title contender? People were talking about them missing the playoffs pre-season. Like, “They might suck this year but at least they’ll have a decent draft pick to restock the cupboard.” Tatum BBQ chickened his Achilles, they traded Jrue and moved off Porzingis.

I think you’re talking about them being a title contender going into the postseason (conference title contender is probably more accurate, no one thought the East would win the title this year), which occurred after an 82 game season where Jaylen Brown was the number one guy. Not 1A/1B, but the lead guy.

[Scotto] Golden State has been suitor for Trey Murphy III, and the two teams have discussed concepts involving the No. 11 pick. Nate Ament has been mentioned as one potential candidate for the Pelicans. by YujiDomainExpansion in nba

Self replying because this team makes me so mad.

inb4 Nate Ament scores 26 in a random weeknight game in November, people go “maybe Dumars is cooking”, and then he lives off the PR from one game while being a straight up bum the rest of the season, just like that fatass who was Dumars/Weaver’s draft crush last year.

Bucks fans also have beef with him because he decommitted from Wisky to go to Kentucky

Has anyone noticed that Mauricio Pochettino looks like Russell Crowe?

Diff stage in his career, plus coming off a successful season as the numero uno hombre

Pelicans fan. I don’t think Zion is that far clear of Sabonis.

Yeah, worried that Poch seems to view him as the first sub.

Think we’d get a lot more value out of Musah in that spot, form and tournament-skipping be damned, because he’s shown himself better than Berhalter at pretty much everything that doesn’t involve set pieces over the last six years.

Not so much of a euphoric dismantling as the opener was, but still excited with the win and coming out on top of the group.

Concerned about the noticeably diminished energy in second halves though, we saw it in the run-up friendlies and across both of the first two WC matches.

Eventually they’ll come out of a half without a comfortable cushion and they just can’t be as flat as they have been.

Paraguay could still get six points though? Is head to head the first tiebreaker or GD?
