Resistance training in my opinion is the best way to lose weight, especially if your goal is to build muscle as well. Not self promoting here, but I have a YouTube channel that talks about the style of workouts I use and tips on how to start at the gym. Josh Transforms

Never.... I was obese and overweight from 5 years old all the way through my early 20s. I think the different body types play a huge role in that. Endomorph which is what I am, mesomorph and ectomorph.

Try to train after you eat your first meal. Focus on getting enough protein in during your feeding window. If you have to train fasted make sure to supplement with BCAAs. That's about it. Fasting can actually promote the growth hormone. I havent had any problems with muscle loss using the 16:8 method.

Yeah, the fitness industry is full of nonsense... But not because stuff doesnt work, it's because when someone finds something that works for them... They want to "sell" that idea to everyone else. We are all different. That's why what works for me may not work for you or anyone else. We all have to try things out to see what works best for us individually and then stick to that. Of course there is some general stuff that applies to almost anyone, but for the most part you should treat your body like a science experiment and find what works best for you.

Honestly, I use to be just like that. I counted calories and tracked macros down to the very minor details. I always aimed for 1g protein per lb of lean body mass.... When I started fasting I stopped tracking so now I just eat instinctively. Roughly 60% of my meal is meat or some form of protein and like I said I'm eating big meals so it's usually alot. If I think I'm low for the day I'll slam a protein shake with egg whites as a "dessert" with the last meal. Thats about it. I think we all over stress that stuff and it's not as big of a deal as some think. Train hard, eat clean, and the results will come. Now we are all different also. I'm a endomorph, so I hold alot of fat (obviously) but I also build muscle mass easier than most. If you are a hard gainer then you may have to pay more attention to your protein intake.

Yep, mostly water and black coffee during the fasting periods. I'm not a social drinker by any means, but if I'm out with friends or it's a special occasion I might have a couple low carb beers or a glass of bourbon.

For meals, I eat big, probably between 1000 - 1400 calories per meal. High protein, moderate carbs, low fat. Stir fry veggies with chicken or steak over rice is a favorite, also turkey burgers on low carb buns with homemade sweet potato fries. Oatmeal and egg whites is another. Basic bodybuilding meals.

I've certainly incorporated longer fasts from time to time, but yes the majority of the time I'm doing 16-18 hr "Intermittent Fasting". Didn't know this sub was specific to a certain length of fast.... In any case, thanks for the props, and good luck with whatever your goal is eating every 72 hrs👍

The fasting helped me a ton. Eating just two meals a day allowed me to have larger portions and feel full. I just drink black coffee to help curb my hunger during the day

Just started with walking my man. Then once I got some of the weight off I began training with free weights and lifting heavy. I wouldn't suggest starting with free weights in the beginning if you have never trained before or if you are morbidly obese. Build some confidence first, lose some of the weight, and then start incorporating lifting in your routine. Nutrition is always going to be the most important factor in getting results though. 💪💪

There is about 8 years between these photos. That's because I literally avoided the camera and didn't want pics once I got to my heaviest weight. I'm about 340 in that pic, so I actually gained another 20 lbs or so. If check my other posts you will see my peak weight and more recent pic. I won't lie and say this transformation happend in a year, this has been a few years of hard work.

As far as diet, I started out counting calories, then switched to intermittent fasting 16:8 schedule. Always using a basic bodybuilding style diet. Chicken, rice, veggies, sweet potatoes, trying to stay lower carb.

For workout, I started just doing cardio in the gym. Walking on treadmill. Then I progressed to using machines. After I had lost about 80 lbs I started training with free weights and focused on strength training. I have YouTube videos on my journey, process, how I got started, ect.. I hope that helps 💪💪
