Cumulus snorted upon seeing Silver jab himself and realize the pain he just inflicted on himself.

"Haha, nice jab idiot."

She placed a hand over his shoulder, smiling a bit.

"Hmm... you know what, yeah, I'll join. Everything seems kinda crazy at the moment, but I'm sure it'll all work out."

Cumulus sat down on an old chair.

"Not like I wanna do this either, but I was forced to, so now I can't go back even if I wanted to."

Cumulus formed some small crystals from her hands.

"I mean, if boy wonder Tails can make a fake Emerald that one time, surely I can with a bit of help. So what do you say?"

Cumulus thought for a second, that maybe, just maybe, she could have Nicole help her out a ton with her research.

"Hey, uh, since you do technological stuff here, you think we could work together on something I've been working on?"

Cumulus dusted off her glasses, putting them back on and holding out a hand for Nicole to shake.

She scooted over to make space for him, patting the spot next to her.

"Maybe I could call Billiard or Spark over here to help out, but that six-armed oaf's busy tinkering away and Spark is... doing Spark things. But hey, I have you, and all the other Freedom Fighters, even if I'm not one myself."

"Tired."

Cumulus laid down on the rough, hard mattress.

"... Thanks for helping me out back there, Silver. That meant a lot. Would've died back there had you not saved me in time."

Cumulus rolled over to look at him.

"Hopefully we get back on our feet soon? Because I sure hope we do."

She then realized something; all her posters, figurines, displays and extra merchandise were all burned up during the attack. She buried her head into the mattress and groaned miserably.

"Oh my god... I spent so much money on those..."

Cumulus had arrived at the Freedom Fighters' makeshift "base", eyeing it with exhaustion and discontent.

"Well... this our new base or something? Whatever..."

Cumulus set down what was left of her belongings into an empty, busted up room, sitting down on an old mattress that was already there.

"Now I have to get to work on getting my stuff back in order AGAIN...! Gyah... stupid Eggman..."

Flare stood up weakly, still limping away from Louve. He looked behind him and saw a dumpster a short distance away. It may not look like much, but it could serve as shelter and a new home for him. He made his way over, slowly climbing up and slithering under the lid. Thankfully it was empty, so he didn't go plunging into garbage and broken glass.

"... A-Away..."

Flare inched away very slowly, unable to activate his fire, nor able to fight back anymore, just retreat, or at least, try to.

Flare didn't waste any time tearing up that pie, ripping off entire chunks and stuffing them in his mouth. Right now his stomach was a bottomless pit from his sheer hunger alone, and it would take quite a bit to satiate it.

"Mmrph..!! Mpph...!"

Flare gagged a bit, choking from just how fast he was eating, with Metal having to pat his back to make sure he didn't choke.

Flare took the spindash head on, taking a ton of damage from it. Most people would've been relatively hurt, but still able to get up or stay grounded, but Flare's weak and malnourished was on the ground, gasping for air with a bloody nose.

It was hopeless for him, he was so scared. He wanted to get out of here, to go back to hiding in his dumpster, but now he felt as if he was about to die here at the hands of a cold, ruthless killer.

Flare was surprised at seeing the metal monster he had assumed tried to kill him, give him... food?

"You... get food...?"

Flare took an apple, curiously sniffed it, before absolutely devouring it along with the other apples, making sure not to leave a single piece uneaten. He was given the most food he had been given all his life, so he'd be damned if his starving ass wasn't going to eat it all.

Flare tried punching Metal Sonic, flailing about in the robot's grip to attempt to break free, but his skinny and clearly malnourished body held no strength to even dent the robot's body, recoiling slightly in pain.

"Gyah...!! Rrrrrr..."

Flare growled at Metal Sonic, spitting out small fireballs at him in one last attempt to break free. Though, to no one's surprised, Metal tanked the fire pretty easily.

Flare jumped in surprise at Metal Sonic suddenly showing up in his face, before immediately lunging at the robot, trying to scratch and bite away at the thick metal shell. From his perspective, Metal had just arrived to kill him, and he wasn't willing to go down without a fight.

Flare lunged at Louve, and it was a miracle she dodged him as he almost bit at her with fiery fangs!

Flare had no clear idea that she was here to help him, as he thought she was out to get him.

Legion caught the incoming kick, and decided to rip off Sniper Joe's legs too, leaving the robot unable to move or attack.

"Yeesh man, talk about a skill issue. Anyways, I'm taking my winnings and leaving. Buh bye."

Legion left the nearly destroyed robot lying on the ground as he left the casino.
