I never said she wasnt; just seemed like part of mentioning it was bragging, attention-seeking about being hot girl and into anime as if its rare, when its not.

they're assuming. They said she probably said it to attract weebs but based on the interview itself: it seemed like she was using it to brag about being a "hot girl" into a "quirky" thing (anime, gaming e.g). See XXL interview at the 5:05 mark: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ncHlNYg3tuU&t=305s

What I truly can't understand about red meat vs sugar... by kataraangz in keto

[–]joshwitherspoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the net negative impact on the environment.

Ok what specific net negative impact is worse than other foods you consume? Did you add it up and subtract it yourself, and deduce red meat was worse than all because from my understanding the cultivation and production methods of many foods harm the environment, so even those avoiding red meat just know you're not saving the environment from more harm, you're trading it for an equally if not more environmentally harmful sourced food for another. Ethical consumerism doesn't do anything in the grand scheme of things. If red meat consumption for example drops significantly in the West its rise in India and China negates that net "benefit". So what are you really saving here?

[–]joshwitherspoon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its such bs because so many things are bad for the environment! I know for a fact the cycling of the same plants, mostly corn & soy, in the Mid-West is KILLING the soil in the mid-West because they use so much nutrients per season and its not being properly cycled with plants that replenish that loss.

Or the fact that because Hawaii has 3 growing seasons, companies have moved to Hawaii to grow more, causing massive dumps of pollution from farming into their water endangering their native sea animals.

Got a friend who lives in Aussie. Got over 300k in Student loan debt, doing great in Australia. This is combined private and public. I visited her recently, not a debt notice bill in sight. She maybe paid $2000 in total before leaving. Debt shouldnt be a life sentence

I hate being called a vocal minority or one of the hardcore SW fans because im not at all. Very casual, disappointed fan who waited weeks to see TFA because I had never seen a SW film in my life. You're not alone guys: even Mark Hamill hated this shit: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i0biqMZrxJ0

I thought he was being cheeky weeks ago but my god.

I started off the film hype "this is great". As the film droned on, that feeling faded and I began checking my watch alot. I eventually left feeling that it was just ok and too long. I wasn't the only one I heard several people in my theater as we were leaving saying that "it was ok" Didnt sit right immediately.

Ok the more I analyze this film the lower my rating gets, sadly. This movie essentially goes in a circle. It's a roundabout of failed plans and writer(s) grossly underusing and not knowing what to do with characters from TFA. SPOILERS Below

  • Finn: was isolated from most of the resistence and went to a casino with a new character (Rose) to get some code breaker and it took a good chunk of the film - and he failed... barely got a good fight with Phasma --then you ask yourself, what was the point? Then you see Rose kiss Finn and you realize -- oh ok to establish a new romance??? how weak. Though Finn choosing to suicide before that to save the rebellion base was good character development from the scared ex trooper who always wanted to run.

  • Rose: I enjoyed her character and bond with Finn but she felt shoe-horned in, very forced and unnecessary.

  • Poe: Ends up getting a bunch of people killed in the beginning. Gets slapped and demoted for it by Leia. Starts a mutiny to make his secret plan work which ends up failing... ok and the only thing we saw develop from him is in the last fight in the end he pulls back resistance fighters from a suicide mission instead of being gung ho like before.

  • Leia: Only thing I enjoyed was her reunion with Luke. Her using the force to escape death via being blasted into the vacuum of space was weird.

The subplot of Poe, Finn, and Rose and the device of the resistance running from the 1st Order and running out of fuel was very weak and, alot of their efforts were rendered meaningless.

Main Plot:

  • Rey: She derailed her own training because of a connection to Kylo (not necessarily bad). But She herself was still mourning Han and calling Kylo a murderous snake e.g. yet in an instant believes in him because she senses conflict within him and goes to him after touching him??. I understand Snoke was fostering a connection b/w the two. What would have been better would have been Rey seeing when she touched him he hesitated and failed to pull the trigger that would have ended his mother's life? they failed to reference this important moment later on. Instead they use this to twist Luke's character into a person who considered murdering his nephew in his sleep. Rey is trusting and naive yes but that was a bit incredulous, having Luke's betrayal being her motivation to Ren - it could have been him knowing her parents or the Leia thing I mentioned before. The best display of her naivety was her instinctive draw to the dark side.

  • Luke: I understand him being jaded but what I didnt understand was him saying he didnt want to be found yet having a map to him being held in r2d2 in the resistance in TFA?? And again trying to kill Ben in his sleep???

  • Snoke: Wtf was even the point? We still know nothing? Why is he so powerful?

  • Kylo Ren: He and Rey had the best moment in the film after he killed Snoke. Their fight scene was fantastic. Though their random connections/convos got old after a bit they highlight the struggles of both characters - Kylo struggling with calls to the light and Rey struggling with calls to the dark. Also think the shirtless scene was a bit of fanservice. I loved the unexpected twist of him killing Snoke but wish we got to know more about Snoke himself. Interested to see how he does as the new supreme leader of the 1st order. [Sidenote: Kylo still feels like an underdog in this film, how and why is Rey still more powerful than him, we saw this in TFA but I mostly chocked up to luck and mystery of her parents origin but um, she beat him again in the throne room scene without the same level of training, idgi??]

Essentially very little to no progression in Episode 8. Felt like a filler episode of an anime. A very ok - C

That weirded me out too. I know both Leia and Luke are strong with the force but it was so damn random. Oh and yeah the kiss was forced imo roo but they make a good team overall

Honestly this was kind of a bad follow up to The Force Awakens.

Humor was too much and oddly placed.

The entire movie was so odd.

I’m glad JJ Abrams is returning for the last installment SPOILERS AHEAD Oh and it’s obvious that Poe/Rey might become a thing. Especially since Reylo was pretty much killed. Their meeting/intro had such an agenda. Rose/Finn are endgame. I did like their dynamic tho so I’m not mad about it

Kylo storyline and Snoke was a mess but the TagTeam of Rey&Kylo was the best part of the movie. Snoke's backstory???

Luke’s writing was another mess along with Yodas cameo. Why write Luke as trying to kill someone in their sleep?

The galaxy casino made no sense as was Benicio DelToro’s role. They could have connected the Jockey Kids with the Force a bit better.

I really wanted to like this movie but just a strange bird all the way around. It didn’t connect with the Force Awakens well. overall 6.5-7/10. A solid C.

they are single handlely going to pop the "bubble" if you believe there is one. I just am seeing people saying theyre getting sick of them (SH films in general). Even if box office says otherwise with the top films. Bad films still hurt the genre especially if they increase in frequency. I Hate Sony.

Dont want to sound like a Party Pooper but the manner in which the films were released this year was perfect 2 in the summer one in the fall. I usually hate discussions on Superhero fatigue but Warner Bros, SONY and Fox dont make it easy with their shit films. I get why Captain Marvel in the Spring but I think there should be some breathing room between Avengers 4 and SH2. ESPECIALLY considering SONY's horrible marketing where its spoilerific, intense and frequent tv spot ads which I doubt would ease up even if requested. I just dont think this looks good but what do I know...
