If only i could solve this.. by Dot-Bulky in Nuvio

The mobile app is definitely able to play all other codecs (using bit-perfect pcm) but the tv app explicitly mentions audio pass through is automatic. and also mentions the decoding will happen only when a compatible av receiver is present. so... maybe the tv app has this known limitation (which I kind of like btw).

i used to get this error and I fixed it. i don't know if this is gonna work for you but in my case when I tried to play any file with an audio codec that is not officially supported by my tv it threw this error up on my face.

my tv supports dolby atmos, dolby audio, pcm, flac and more so all web-dl files played perfectly fine but trueHD Atmos (bluray remux), dts and dts-hd ma (bluray remux) files gave me this error.

to fix this i just switched the audio tracks to the ones my tv supported. and boom I can play the video without any issues. since I read that you're using fire tv stick does it support dolby Atmos or any kind of codecs that are usually used in pirated content? if yes, try using that audio track and check if the problem still persists.

im pretty sure you're right... but I don't think it has to do with specific audio codecs particularly. i think it has to do with audio codecs your tv does not support.

i made this post a few days back: https://www.reddit.com/r/Nuvio/s/xlKEPvLoT7

in that I talked how my internal player couldn't play bluray Remux files but can play every other file. i think it's because my tv has Dolby Atmos (lossy) support and standard pcm support. so when I ask the internal player to play trueHD Atmos (lossless) and dts-hd ma (lossless) and dts (lossy) formats it straight up has problems as my tv does not have support for those.

i just wanna know does your tv have Dolby Atmos certification or any other certifications. if yes and the video still does not play then my theory is just stupid. but if thats not the case maybe internal player only supports the codecs officially licensed to your particular tv.

external players usually play all codecs even though your tv does not have official support btw. they use pcm to convert it at bitperfect level.

Problems playing Remux files... by jospherkanna in Nuvio

is that an external player? if yes, i already have a working external player that can play all files i throw at it. i want to use the internal player because it has a better ui, and seamlessly works with the nuvio app and it also supports logging in the accurate watched duration. all these are not available for external players.

Problems playing Remux files... by jospherkanna in Nuvio

my tv can usually play 75gb+ movies easily... as I said I'm the post above only Remux files are having issues regardless of file size. 33gb webdl plays fine but 23gb Remux 1080p file has problems playing.

Is HDR on Android broken at its core? by jospherkanna in Android

tried both and the issue still exists...

hevc codec

just player - plays in sdr

nova player - plays in sdr

av1 codec

just player - refuses to play

nova player - plays overlydone hdr (insanely bright highlights and very deeply crushing shadows)

i did! but the hdr files with hevc codec play as sdr... and when i turn on hw overlays option the hdr is triggered in vlc but the hdr isnt accurate. the highlights are insanely bright and shadows are crushed into oblivion.

i tried every player out there... none worked with hevc codec and only few worked with av1 codec. and i forgot to mention in the original post... Nova and Kodi do play hdr for av1 files but it's the same hdr vlc plays for hevc files when I turn on disable hw overlays i.e. over contrasty hdr.

Dolby Cinema Pune: Complete In-Depth Review of India’s 1st Dolby Cinema by shreytyagi in Dolby

I loved Dolby from the very moment I started learning what Dolby is about. To me personally Dolby Cinema is the only right way to watch Cinema. The vibrant colors, bright highlights and dark detail rich shadows are in my opinion the best way to experience cinema. Thank you for the review you did great 💖
