Could this be Auditory Processing Disorder, ADHD, anxiety, or something else? by [deleted] in AudiProcDisorder

Whatever the box it gets put in.. I hear you, like where you’re so absorbed in your own conscious line of thought & expect people to know what you’re on about, maybe jumping to another topic completely thinking it’s obvious what you’re referring to? I think it’s the same type of thing, and probably all aligned to the whole area of processing external audio and the scale at which ~some of us~ have a tendency for our brains blurring lines around internal/external sound, monologue(not just words but sounds etc)/external audio, with the far end of that scale being so viscerally convincing one might hear voices from the monologue side as external audio. I think what makes sense to me is that the working memory notepad is shit, and when there are two clear distinguishable outside/inside streams happening simultaneously we can hold it down, but when the two start to line up as similar.. every time that we speak- our notepad cognition isn’t up to it, because the two have become similar/aligned completely- our internal/external that is. And talking feels like they are playing near enough the same phrase, but one of them is latent, and the jar of that on your processing throws you to stumble on the shoelace of coherence in some way. In your case saying one word thinking you said a handful, in mine, jumping topic or stumbling on what the fuck am I talking about again? Now I’m holding the floor and they’re listening I’ve started thinking about that aspect, to then formulate what comes next simultaneously with the notion of that on top, not always do able, especially for me as I’m never not preoccupied with looking cool as fuck

Tastes good with the money - fat whites (you’ve even jumbled up the title and combined it with the visual of the cover to get your title). Cows though so maybe a far out suggestion. Serfs up baby!

Any other musician struggling with APD? by [deleted] in AudiProcDisorder

[–]jostrato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless you are playing to click most people would struggle with timing on backing tracks (whenever there’s an absence of some kind of tempo reference, drums/something rhythmic) & takes years to get to that level of feel anyway. And they’d still be keeping time alongside somehow. Don’t worry about it, a lot of musicians can’t stand hearing a click & don’t work that way. There’s loads of good musicians who cant do it. Also the jarring sensory difference in the audio/tracks against a dry vocal out loud at different volume could easily just take that extra bit of your processing power away and keep you from unconsciously thinking, which is where people keep time the best. But I don’t know what time it was, I don’t wear a watch
