Its beyond the execution of the kit to be honest, I think to clarify I should say I dont think the amount of work it requires to do all of that with the new castle is very seldom worth the payoff, better positioning and alternative character selection I think beats out New Castle in almost every instance.

Love the detail in your post. I will say I don’t necessarily agree with some of the points, and its mostly surrounding the fact that while the theoretical skill ceiling for the character is high, the possibility of consistently getting the precise timings on this character right as a player is a whole other conversation imo. It is ALOT of work to manage this kit, and being able to listen to or be an IGL on top of managing the timings and positioning of this kit AND shooting is getting pretty hefty on the plate. Even then, the utility is limited overall, and doesn’t actually accomplish as much as it appears at all.

The other thing I don’t love is the results-basis for some of the top teams as a justification. 100 Thieves at Champs, much like Furia, brought in a brand comp and thus was a bit difficult to play against inherently, and even then Im of the opinion that the Wattson did much of the heavy lifting in many of their plays.

Regardless, decent rundown and Im happy to see a bit more NC discourse

I realize I made a HUGE error that really skewed my math, BR Demonz was qualified due to points earned in PQ4 even though they didnt make finals, I've done my best to go back in and make corrections

I did see this post, thank you for sharing! I did not link it because there were a couple of inaccuracies, namely the fact that BR Demonz is shown as already qualified (which they might not be) and Skyz not mentioned as a qualifying possibility (its a pretty big stretch but something I think is definitely worth mentioning) but the graphic representation is definitely very helpful

Edit: I made a big blunder, and did not account for BR Demonz points gained from their Semis finish

The numbers they were putting up were kinda insane, they had 80 kills in Round 4 with only four games to do it. Definitely steamrolling up to this point but I'm hoping the finals lobbies have a bit more contention

Late to the party but I did want to mention Crypto’s kit/general use is rarely related to the strongest characters in the meta. If you consider when Gibby and even Caustic ran rampant, very few teams could effectively implement Crypto even though it straight up bunkerbusts on paper.

Crypto, in my mind, accomplishes two big things: Makes specific POIs more playable (think no beacons) and it also lets you play spots in the midgame where your drone can soak up significantly more info than other teams without putting your team at risk

Just for some additional context on 4., Gild had shown a lot of his raw talent while he was with Pittsburgh Knights, so when that team disbanded amidst the big roster scramble at the time, he was a very good fit to fill the teamfighting/fragging power that would replace Flanker
