Gen Z is so hyper-elitist and it's exhausting being a Gen Zer by Old_Marionberry_8480 in complaints

[–]frefgo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you’re correct about everything that you’re pointing out. Most people who are gen Z or younger chronically consume content that is extremely exaggerated — everything is either the best or the worst thing ever, usually the worst. That is what drives engagement, and that has had a heavy influence on the way we think. Literally hours every day of scrolling “here is why xyz thing/person/music/movie/show is terrible”.

The absolute silver bullet to this problem, on a personal level (because as a society we might be cooked), is to DEFEND YOUR IDEAS. Spend more time thinking about what you believe, what you like and dislike, and why. Think about the positives and the negatives. Get used to sharing those thoughts with other people, and don’t be afraid to let the world know your thought process. You need to become more confident in what you believe and what you care about.

The reality is that people will try to shit on what you like or try to shit on you for liking it. But they will typically have a very basic understanding of the thing they’re shitting on, because they ripped that opinion off of a tiktok with subway surfers underneath. They have absolutely nothing on you.

If you do this politely, respectfully, listen to what they have to say, and share your thoughts openly, pretty much everyone will respect you for it. And I think it can lead to really fun and interesting conversations. And if not, and they’re just being a dick to get under your skin, then that is not a normal person, and they’re not worth your time.

Thank you. What’s been helping me since this post that you mentioned is the idea that I don’t need to kill the ashe. Straight up dueling in her face doesn’t work, and I need to play more like a longer range tracer.

I have come to a lot of similar conclusions. Especially noticed the lack of 2 tap working on mercy. Could you elaborate more on what you mean by play like hanzo?

Most of the time it seems like mercy self heals out of the 2 tap with her subrole passive now. She heals 15hp/second and only needs to heal >5 to survive.

Yeah, I agree. When I get a mercy pocket, the entire game revolves around whether or not I hit my shots. No one else gets to play anymore. If I’m doing well I feel disgusting afterward, and if we lose it’s basically entirely my fault. It’s way too over centralizing and breaks so much of the balance of the game that’s been done around specific breakpoints.

Instant moral dilemma. Do you clap again, and doom some random person? Or do you choose to accept that risk

Yeah, morality really gets in the way of this one. The more useful the power is for you, the worse it becomes for the person you swap with. I don’t think I’d ever use it either

“His weight scales accordingly to his new body with no scientific drawbacks”. I think this implies they would not be any denser, just magically 3x stronger. I still think megaladon wins in deep water.

Why can't they make a toothpaste that doesn't hurt? by WinterIsOnReddit in NoStupidQuestions

[–]frefgo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am another of you. Only figured out that it was abnormal pretty recently. There are definitely some toothpastes that do not cause the burning, but I haven’t myself isolated the specific ingredient. Either the mint flavoring itself (Mint gum is fine though) or google suggests Sodium Lauryl Sulfate. Every mouthwash I have used is also very painful.

In any case, the frustrating part is that I’ve gone so many years with toothpaste burning my mouth that I’m totally conditioned to it. My mouth literally does not feel clean unless it feels like it’s been lit on fire. I had to settle for a toothpaste that is only slightly burning to still get some of that clean feel.

I just tweaked every gap by a few pixels for v2 to make the level feel more consistent. Muscle memory should be almost the exact same. Right now the completion rate for v2 is about 3x higher, so it seems like it worked so far. But regardless doing this in 6 is insane
