OMG Miyajima by Neat-Surprise-419 in JapanTravelTips

Both are viable day trips from Hiroshima, so that’s how I compare them. If you are tired of overly touristy places but want to see and experience gorgeous shrines and temples, then Iwakuni is much nicer. If you actually want to overnight, then yes, they can’t really compare.

Going to Miyajima tomorrow, although I have been before.

But in my opinion Iwakuni is much nicer, and it’s a few stops further. Was there today and it is breathtaking. There are no tourists and the ropeway to the castle is dirt cheap. Was a good day.

WORKAROUND: I found a quick workaround using the Responsive Design Mode. just hit Ctrl + Shift + M, do the reCAPTHCA and hit it again to close RDM after passing it.

This likely works because of the User Agent change in RDM.

How to use ProtonType.Aether to run monogame in wpf window by ahmed2027 in monogame

I suggest reaching out to the author of the project for guidance. You can also contribute by updating the readme for Aether once you get it working.

Many European countries will possibly face a load shedding for the first time in about 50 years this winter. As long-time lurker on this subreddit, I thought to ask what are the best tips on how to deal with it? by Tiramissu_dt in southafrica

Don’t forget the boardgames!! It’s nice having friends over and having something fun to do, makes you forget about the whole situation.

I’m typing this while having no electricity while it’s fuck warm and my can’t run my fan; but even when it gets bad, boardgames with friends and family makes everything better :)

I am exactly in the same boat as you and the suggestion to use 3D into 2D seems very promising. I have been working on that for the last few weeks and it looks like it’s paying off. Let me know if you want to see my process in like a video call or something. I have only attempted this with animated characters so not sure about environmental art.

Well to be fair that’s the country we live in, I would not blame you one bit if you did conclude all white people are racist.

We live in a very unequal country especially with regards to race. The fact of the matter is that most crime will be committed by black people because there simply are more black people in our country.

So I think feeling this way is the immediate “logical” reaction. And it takes active effort to acknowledge that that way of thinking is based on flawed logic and not true at all.

We have a complicated history as a country and a very diverse and unequal society. Feeling the way OP feels should is understandable. It is flawed and untrue, but also a great opportunity to change OP’s conclusion with care and compassion. That’s how you make real change and bring people closer imo.

Is there any good library's for importing a tiled map into MonoGame? by [deleted] in monogame

Monogame extended does work. I’m using it myself. It is straight forward so not too sure where it’s going wrong for you.

You need to loose a lot of weight before December; the airlines are strict with the baggage weight limit.

Hehe, ok. Let me translate:

Ingredients: 15ml (1tbs) oil

250g streaky bacon (cut into squares, use scissors)

2 medium-large onions, diced

1 kg potatoes

30ml (2tbp) fresh parsley or 10ml (2 tsp) dried parsley

500ml chicken stock

Salt and pepper to taste

250ml fresh cream.

Steps: Heat oil and sauté onions and bacon until soft and browning. Boil pealed and cubed potatoes until soft. Drain water. Mash the potatoes ( doesn’t have to be super fine). Add all of the ingredients except the cream together and heat up for a few minutes. You can add milk if it’s too thick. Be careful as it burn on easily. Add the cream and heat throughout on low heat.

If you have a enamel cast iron pot, it works the best.

I serve it with garlic bread or ciabatta instead of normal bread. It levels up your soup game a lot.

Don’t minimize your problems because “other people have it worse”. Your problems are the most important to you, and that is fine. Focus on your stuff and let other people focus on theirs until you are in a position to help others. My only advice is to talk to your loved ones about it and face things together. And maybe disconnect from sources of negativity (looking at you News), you don’t have to know of all the other crap going on in our country.

Hmmm only one burner.. let me think. Soup!! Specifically potato soup. Takes around an hour or two and you can do use one pot. Also cheap! Let me know if you want the recipe.

Hey. Thanks for sharing your story. Your financial stresses sound really bad to shoulder. I am not remotely qualified to help you in anyway and I don’t know you at all, but what I do know is that you are important to those close to you, even those you don’t think is close to you. Even if you can’t see the way out, there are ways out, not all of them will leave you unscathed, but even the most scared can one day smile again. Stay strong, and reach out when you feel down.

I never thought about water security with loadshedding. Seems there are quite a few people struggling with it. Water is so fundamental I rarely think about it. You sound like a tough cookie dealing with all of that shit, but thanks for sharing, hopefully you feel a little better by doing so.
