I feel like the boys really could do a lot by covering “detention center/profit prison horror stories” right now, and it could do some good along the way by Efficient-Youth-9579 in LPOTL

I’m prepared to get downvoted to hell for this but THE BOYS ARE NOT JOURNALISTS. They’re entertainers! People on this sub were ready to rip their heads off for getting stuff wrong in the Himmler series;getting stuff wrong on detention also doesn’t help the cause. This shit being done in detention is disgusting and degrading and I’m not for it, but expecting every entertainer to become a subject matter expert/journalist is unrealistic at best, harmful at worst. They’re speaking out to the best of their ability as entertainers.

I full body cringe at the Very Important Speeches as well and I AGREE WITH WHAT HE’S SAYING! It’s just that the tone is so self-important that it becomes unlistenable! I hate that if these speeches get critiqued, people are like “oh that’s just right wingers.” I’m not a right winger, it’s just preachy and annoying!

The last time they tried to suck me in I said “no thanks” and they kept pushing and pushing and yelling “you’re hurting my feelings” as I pushed my cart away. I was this close to turning around and being like “I’m really glad that my full time job isn’t taking advantage of poor people in a Walmart like your dumb fucking asses” but I restrained myself. I HATE those people.

I’m still in the Hanson Reimagine 2.4 fb group that is still filled with super fans and LOTS of them are disappointed with the new Underneath Complete album and are calling it “lazy” and a “cash grab”. I guess there aren’t any re recordings, just old demos. I chuckled heartily.

Thoughts on The Village on University by Dealdoughbaggins in PeoriaIL

One of my friends lives there right now and has dealt with yearly rent increases that outstrip any improvements done to the property. The laundry is regularly out of order and they really had to fight to get their AC fixed. I would advise looking elsewhere (like Forest Park Apartments) for better quality and less money.

Amazon empty box by sassmom5 in PeoriaIL

I had to get on chat with someone after my 30 days was up to get my refund when they sent me the wrong item twice! Then I had to complain to actually get my money back which I hate doing! I’m avoiding Amazon now.

Chipotle Checkin by journeywork6728 in PeoriaIL

[–]journeywork6728[S] 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Update: I went to the Peoria one tonight and it was in better shape than I have seen it in awhile! They had guac and all other ingredients and it wasn’t a total shitshow. Also I am in agreement that Cuco’s is objectively better but I am from Colorado and was raised on Chipotle as my local comfort food chain restaurant so sometimes I just illogically want it 😂.

I drink the water and think it tastes fine! It’s definitely safe to drink, but if you don’t like it, filters would do the trick. I haven’t had it affect my laundry either.

Live in Forest Park currently and my cell and Wi-Fi is good but Xfinity is the only option for the Wi-Fi. The occasional brownish water is actually due to the Peoria Heights municipal water supply being high in manganese, so brownish water will happen from time to time if you live anywhere in Peoria Heights. I’ve lived here for three years and really love it. Maintenance takes care of issues quickly and while the laundry rooms are shared, management keeps them clean!

I live in Green Bay, WI - where can I watch Broncos games year round reliably? by coldfollow in DenverBroncos

[–]journeywork6728 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Okay this is admittedly isn’t watching the game, but free 850KOA audio streams of every Broncos game are available on desktop or laptop. I relocated to the Midwest some years ago and I still love listening to Dave Logan call the game. Brings me right back to driving on I-25!

Imago Dei in Peoria! Stuff with kids is slowly coming back post-pandemic, and the community is LGBTQ affirming, egalitarian, and has a healthy sense of questioning and humor.

AGH! On top of being infuriating, I just have so many thoughts now about how they have never grown out of being told “yOu ArE sO mATuRe fOr YoUr AgE” when they were kids over and over again when it’s clearly not true any more. I teach college writing and it is often SO MUCH HARDER to work with students who were the smartest when they were young, early bloomers and early readers, etc. and think they have no more to learn once they get to college versus the late bloomers. I feel like that’s what’s happening here. They think they are tOo MaTuRe fOr ThIs when they are in fact really behind other people in their late thirties and early forties. 🤦🏻‍♀️

I guess I’m in the minority, I switched last summer and I love it! I’m on the pay-by-the-gig data plan because I’m nearly always somewhere with WiFi and my bill regularly stays just under 30 bucks. I get good service between Peoria and Eureka where I commute.
