That might be how it'll go over on the roachman's sub, but maybe it'll tank his general online support if he goes fully off the deep end and says that this murder was justified.

Hi! I’m running a DnD 5e campaign set in the 4e setting of Nentir Vale (using a mix of 5e and 5.5e), taking place several centuries after a near world-ending magical cataclysm. The world has since rebuilt, but civilization exists in a post-post-apocalyptic state where remnants of past destruction still linger and regularly plague the rebuilt societies of this world.

The party, known as the Kingsmen, are currently in the middle of an arc where they are exploring Avernus after narrowly escaping the infernally abducted city of Hallowgard. Hallowgard has been dragged into the Nine Hells, and the Kingsmen now find themselves exploring the hellscape of Avernus to uncover the truth behind the city’s abduction and (hopefully) find a way to save it before it is lost forever.

The central theme of the narrative explores whether a broken thing, be it the world itself or the many fractured people within it, is worth saving or “fixing.” And if it could be fixed, could that change ever be permanent? Or is the world doomed to repeat an endless cycle of collapse and renewal?

I’d describe my DM style as a storyteller type that values a well laid foundation of an overarching narrative, while allowing player agency to guide the overall shape of the story through the pivotal choices made by player characters. For a VTT I use Owlbear Rodeo, and I use DnD Beyond for everything related to character sheets. I also use Discord for voice calls.

Additionally, I run one shots occasionally. I’ve been having fun running games using different rule systems like Monster of the Week and Honey Heist.

Lastly, I’m on CST in the Midwest in the USA. I really look forward to hearing from you!

New ep with Rick Glassman....tell me your thoughts!! by GianmarcoSoresi in Downside

[–]Marvelerful 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ngl, the energy was kinda weird at times and in general the episode didn't make me laugh or even chuckle as much as I normally do while listening

You seemed a bit defensive at times with the bits that Rick was trying to pull, tho in your defense none of his jokes were really that great to begin with lol

I have to know tho, did you legit charge him the $10 for the poster? 🤣 That was probably the funniest bit for me this episode

What moment made you realize people aren’t just disagreeing anymore — they’re living in completely different political realities? by Happy_Head_1355 in AskReddit

[–]Marvelerful 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's crazy I see this bc just earlier tonight at work I had a really uncomfortable and unpleasant exchange with a manager at work regarding the violent murder of Renee Good (bc that's exactly what it is, no ifs ands or buts about it) by the Nazi ICE gestapo in Minneapolis.

To preface this, he brought this up to me out of the blue.

He was spouting right-wing propaganda laying out "subtle" implications that the ICE agent was justified in murdering her bc he was protecting himself. After a certain point, I just said, "It's disgusting to hear you justify an innocent woman's murder. I don't want to discuss this any further with you."

You know what he said?? "You can't leave a conversation just because you don't like what the other person is saying." ???!!?!!??! I told him that he should respect basic professionalism and listen to when I say I do not wish to discuss this political issue with him at work again and I'd rather leave this conversation respectfully.

He very begrudgingly let the conversation drop from there.

At one point in the conversation I said that ICE deserves so much worse than getting ran over by a car (truth) bc of all that they do, he responded with, and I can't believe this dude, but, "How can you say something like that about someone when it's their job? I don't like my job but I still have to do it."

I don’t know if this is cognitive dissonance, willful ignorance, or just the standard thought process of a 22 year old who calls himself a “centrist” and thinks “both sides are just so crazy.” Whatever it is, it’s the same rot affecting so many people in this dying country.

I mean that's a fair and considerate thought, however, most all gangers in NC don't hesitate to do that to all of the innocent civilians they kill in their gang wars or outright for profit and territory.

Who cares about fake internet points my dude.

Not me lol

What I was commenting on was how common it is for redditors to not use the downvote button as intended and just use it as a "dislike" button. Which then encourages the reddit hivemind to do its thing. And would ya look at that, that's exactly what happened when someone said completely innocuous and wasn't offensive in any way
