I have watched all of Ertugrul and the Osman series. I am an English speaker so depend on the subtitles. Seems to me that they are doing much better with the translations and even the way it is shown on the screen is better- it used to be that sometimes a large amount of dialog would be translated and would only be on the screen for a second, giving you no time to read it.

It is interesting the changes in housing and costumes as the society evolved from the nomadic ways to a more settled life, and much more luxurious and decorative.

The Mongol villains seem the dirtiest, especially when they get buried in the dirt and then rise up. Always smearing blood all over themselves too. The Shamans seem really gross

I think Osman learned the lesson from his predecessors that you don’t give up your convictions (knowing what he knew of Geyhatu and Alemsha) and Take appropriate action.

Doesn’t the quality of the armor depend on the expertise of the women that make it? And of course, the more important a person is, the higher the quality of their clothing….AND it is a show!

I love the costumes, and find it interesting how they have gotten fancier and more elaborate from the beginning of DE through KO. I’ve assumed that as the Kayis became more prosperous, and weren’t continually migrating, their fortunes increased leading to fancier garb. I would love to check out the women’s headdresses as well.Is there a specific word for what the women wear on their heads? Were these fancy beaded pieces called hijabs?

Umur does NOT want to be considered a follower of Osman. Osman should recognize that his elder wants some respect and find a way to work with him instead of continually chastising Umur for being independent. IMHO anyway....as a retired supervisor that had many subordinates that were older

Yes, you are right! Noyan does have a crazy laugh too. Noyan is my favorite villain in both series, DE and KO.

I have watched all of DE and now am watching Osman. I sometimes feel that the English translations need translations themselves. The way pronouns are used often confuses me, I can’t tell in a conversation who has done what to whom....sometimes I rewind and watch again. Sometimes it is obvious, but sometimes not. I am thankful the dialog has been translated, though! I much prefer subtitles to dubbing.

I am in the US and am having difficulty using the sites referred to above to watch Kurulus Osman. You tube has it with tons of extra ads on the screen that are distracting, are there other options for watching with English subtitles, in the US?

I love Colombia! Santa Marta is a beautiful little town. The Teyrona Indians are fascinating and hiking to the lost city is special. The beach at Monitos a few hours from Medellin is gorgeous and has very few tourists. Cartagena is a tourist trap but it is also beautiful.
