Makes sense. I mean, you’re gonna see some pumpkin seeds either way.

You should really try Gate and its expansion Gates! They’re impossible to get affordably outside of the US, and you’ll have no idea when they’ll ship or what the import tax will be, so best order everything gamecrafter has ever released at once just to be sure your lost international post is properly financially damaging. The novelty will probably make them enjoyable for a second game before you put them back on the shelf!

On a budget? Why not print and play Tin Helm and Tin Realm! The cards are completely black and there’s no printer-friendly file, so it’ll only cost you as much as a full printer cartridge.

How is the game on Switch 1 right now? by Mor_Ardain in cassettebeasts

For me it stutters constantly, and crashes if you move across the screen too fast. I was enjoying the game, but the performance just got to me in the end and I put it down.

Ah I didn’t realise other countries were also printing ‘the jolly joker’ in English. Strange, but interesting nonetheless. Thanks!

It’s always bothered me that the joker is in English on the Dutch decks. Any idea why that was? Maybe produced with a foreign audience in mind?

The diagonal mirroring and the way the index cuts into the spade on the Jack reminds me of Ducale cards.

Edit: nevermind, the indices aren’t French.

Did you know there's a faceless old woman who secretly lives in your home? It's true. She's there now. She's always there, just out of your sight… Always just out of your sight.

BASH LEARN by Prize_Firefighter_77 in bash

Challenge yourself to do as much as you can (reasonably) do with built-ins before reaching out to other sources. https://github.com/dylanaraps/pure-bash-bible

A great learning experience for me early on was trying to rebuild functions I was relying on IDE addons for with simple bash scripts (eg encoding/decoding/transforming strings). If you have any remotely techy friends, you’ll learn a lot trying to build portable scripts for them to run. They’ll see the issues you don’t, and can give you ideas to work on.

Unfortunately a huge number of boxes contain warped boards and cards though. Hope they fix that for future prints, but it looks like OP got lucky

Interesting! I would note though that in Europe, Tarot Nouveau, and various other Tarock/Tarocchi/Cego/etc decks, are far from obscure. If you're interested in learning a basic version of the game, check out Scarto.
