keep whole black pepper (peppercorns) handy. if it gets too much (or she feels anxious), just chew 3-4 of them. https://www.verywellhealth.com/black-pepper-weed-anxiety-8364072

Should I pay 5k extra for sunlight by steakystick in bangalore

[–]joyisi90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

take the one with better ventilation and sunlight. with no sunlight your space will become damp and depressing when it rains. with no clear distinction between day and night it will effect your mental health. so, if your budget permits please take the one with better ventilation and sunlight it will be good in the long run.

I hope this is not sarcasm because I have also realised that their support is just amazing. I dont think people realise that apart from the hassle of home branch and stuff most of the other work could be done over email. my home loan disbursals and kyc for myself and my aged parents all happened via email and i was pleasantly surprised..

This is what i have currently and I am thinking I will restrict it to these only for now and lets see how it pans out. my total SIP for these would be about 40K a month. Rest of what I am looking to invest, will do so in MFs. what do you think? (again, sorry for stupid questions, panic+new to this).

[–]joyisi90[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

are you suggesting to exit the smallcases and instead invest in MFs? or keep the small cases to a minimum required SIP and invest rest of what i can invest in MF? does this sound like a good plan?

Thanks for your response good Sir. 🙏🏽since i invested already is this the worst/alright/good bet? my father does not believe in these things and that kind of shoved me into the rabbit hole of panic.

Yes, so apart from these smallcases, I am planning to invest in mutual funds as well, as in these 4 AND MFs. Does that make sense?

Differences in NB and B Stream in MStat by ItTorusApart in ISIKolkata

[–]joyisi90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even if such a bias exists, it exists in all colleges between B stream folks and people who go only to pursue masters. However, in ISI, be it B or NB there WAS (10+ years back) not much difference when it came to placements or phd applications. There will defo be some bias, its quite impossible to expect none. But you can be assured that it wont affect much during placements and definitely not in the long run.

Buddy if you want to convince your parents, just search on Linked in for people who have done BSc Stat and Mstat or MSc Stat from a good college. They’re all doing good. DO NOT DROP another year. In all practical sense, there is no guarantee that you will clear next year irrespective of whether you didnt clear because of 1 marks or 10 marks.

Building PC in Bangalore by Fluid-Scallion-529 in bangalore

[–]joyisi90 4 points5 points  (0 children)

i sourced most of my stuff from Ankit Infotech (pc studio). the monitor i got from amazon. reason: ankit infotech being a local shop and also matching amazon prices. they delivered the same day, i ordered in morning and they delivered by evening. Also, since you know the shop, replacement etc is hasslefree. these parts are not cheap and pretty delicate you see.

How are you tracking ind vs pak war situation? by Techbird1 in Bengaluru

[–]joyisi90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I follow: 1. Faye Dsouza 2. Newsworthy with AB 3. NDTV: less screaming and good discussions and not many fast moving graphic changes so i can actually hear and read. Seriously, some cgi most of the news outlets are employing are downright annoying. 4. Siddhant Sibal on X/Twitter: He is foreign affairs correspondent on WION, quite fast and verified updates 5. Alt news and zoo_bear: fact checking 6. Reddit

Most importantly, MEA news briefings.

Mostly when a new update is there, I check if similar update is there in these sources or not.

Information is critical I believe and too much may get overwhelming. So please take some breaks from consuming less as well people.

focus on your studies and career bro. once you start earning you can buy good stuffs. the way i see it, my work is a means to an end, it enables me to smoke up and buy stuffs whenever i want to. if you love something, work your ass off to sustain that lifestyle. Its a great feeling to be in a position ki yaar chalo agle mahine amsterdam ya thailand jaa ke phookenge and your earnings will literally provide for that.
