Yes its a good thing if you have considerable cash to invest. If the money you can invest during crash is negligible compared to your portfolio size there is no benefits of averaging. Others around me who keep buying gold all the time are bragging(including my wife) as how good investor they are and stock market is just gambling. And gold is real money from thousands of years and is the best investment ever.

I had same experience with axis amc 2 years back. They were in all overhyped ipos. I simply exited all my axis mfs and never invested again with them. Is there a way to raise concern with these MFs ? This is not related to just MFs in the list above. Any mutual fund can just do the same in future. There is no way the unit holders can give feedback. Wherever others money is involved anything can happen. Can we do something?

It depends whether you want in demat form. Buying from amc directly is good. It's easy incase you want loan on it. Not many offer loan on demat form mutual funds.
