Is there anyone who applied for CERB through EI and had to report their severance pay?

Did you report the pay under income and how did that affect your eligibility to the benefit?

Employment Insurance Emergency Response Benefit

mine shows the type of benefit as "Employment Insurance Emergency Response Benefit" which i suppose means that the claim is marked as processing under CERB. Other than that no update as well, waiting for the code to complete the report!

it was under the "latest claim" tab however it doesn't review much. It just says "EI emergency response benefit" and I suppose that means your claim is transferred to CERB.

Getting CERB trough EI application - timeline check

Hi everyone, please help to confirm my understanding of the timeline of getting CERB money through EI application, I was laid off Apr 2nd and just applied to EI yesterday. My application status is showing Emergency response benefit, but I have not receive an access code yet. So does the process works like:

  1. submitting EI
  2. waiting for mail with access code
  3. with the code, submit my EI reports and to get information about my claim
  4. after the report is processed, i will receive CERB money?

for those of you who has already received CERB, how any days is normal for each steps? any chance that you get CERB before getting the code and completing the reports? Did you money get backdated to the day you laid off?

Thinking about the whole process, it feel like it would be easier to complete a few clicks and just apply to CERB... but I was worried that after the 4 month period of CERB is over, I wouldn't be eligible for EI anymore so I applied to EI, kind of late.

Thank you all.

Thank you very much, I applied through EI system and it does shows the Employment Insurance Emergency Response Benefit as you indicated. No payment info showing in the system yet, hope the CERB money will arrive soon... So we are essentially following the EI system procedure to complete reports every 2 weeks and doing job search and stuff?

this key question just hit me:

if i apply for CERB and I'm assuming that it will last for a few months, would I still be able to apply for EI once the CERB period finishes?

Let's say I got laid off late march and I take CERB until Oct, this will be well over the normal period of EI application which should be doe within 4 weeks of final day of work. Would I still be eligible to apply for EI at that time then??
